Donald Trump Raves Over Male Olympic Speedskater's 'Very Strong' Physique: 'How Do I Get My Legs to Look Like That?'

President Donald Trump marveled at 22-year-old Olympic speedskater Jordan Stolz's physique during a White House reception celebrating Team USA's 2026 Winter Olympians and Paralympians.

“Also with us is the single-most decorated American Olympian from the 2026 games, speedskater Jordan Stolz, and I watched that one too. Legs — strong legs. Very strong legs. I said, ‘How do I get my legs to look like that?’ I don’t have any time to work like that. But you were amazing and historic,” he gushed.

This was not the first time Trump commented on Stolz's physique. At a Wisconsin roundtable event in June, after Stolz let the president try on his gold medal, Trump remarked to the crowd, “I forgot to touch his leg… I can tell you one thing: his leg is like a rock.”

The POTUS has a frequent habit of openly marveling at the physiques of fit male athletes.

In May, Trump commented that he wished he looked like "beautiful" New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, remarking that Dart had "legs like tree trunks."

The hyper-fixated president remarked during a May Oval Office presser that golfer Bryson DeChambeau "looked like a linebacker."

He also called former NFL linebacker Joe Thomas "one h--- of a physical specimen" and added, "Look at the size of this guy! Boy oh boy ... he's a good-looking man.”

Some psychologists and cultural experts explain Trump's frequent public fixation on the male physique through several distinct lenses, primarily focusing on the projection of ultimate authority, overcompensation for aging and the weaponization of hyper-masculinity as a political tool.

Cornell University's Sabrina Karim noted Trump’s fixation has a strong temporal and age-related component since reaching his 80s while governing means dealing with the natural physical limitations of aging.

Experts suggest that his marveling at young athletes is a psychological manifestation of longing for a "glorified manhood that he cannot embody anymore."

Psychological studies, including research published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, frequently connect Trump’s rhetoric to the concept of "precarious manhood." This psychological theory states that traditional masculinity is fragile — something that is "hard-won and easily lost," requiring constant public proof.

Body language and behavioral experts observe that Trump uses these physical assessments to establish a social hierarchy.

When he brings a muscular cadet or an Olympian onto a stage and physically inspects them, he positions himself as the ultimate arbiter or "judge" of fitness.

Even while complimenting another man's superior physique, the act of evaluating them publicly allows him to maintain psychological control and top-tier status in the interaction.

"It's almost like he is trying to reach for this glorified manhood that he cannot embody anymore," Karim said, adding that "he cannot help but having this sense of loss," leading him to fixate on young, virile physical specimens as a form of vicarious validation.
