White House Protocol Chief Monica Crowley posted a social media photo captioned "SQUAD" featuring D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, signaling solidarity from administration allies as reports of her demise in the Trump administration continue to swirl.

The image was shared on Instagram amid severe public friction between President Donald Trump and the former Fox News personality over the dropping of a federal vandalism case involving the president's pet project Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

The caption was anchored by three red, white and blue hearts and featured herself, Pirro, Medicare chief Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife, Lisa, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Jeanette Rubio, wife of Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The post emerged over the weekend following an explosive week of speculation regarding Pirro’s job security, with reports of Trump planning to "make her suffer" over not ruling in his favor.

The internal friction centers around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool saga. Pirro's office abruptly dropped felony destruction-of-property charges against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn and three others.

A Justice Department filing from Pirro's office acknowledged that the pool’s peeling blue liner was actually caused by a "hasty and botched" $14 million renovation by federal contractors rather than active vandalism.

Pirro openly criticized Interior Secretary Doug Burgum's department for providing "barebones" information that led to the initial mistaken indictment.

Trump fiercely rejected his own DOJ's findings and targeted Pirro publicly, blasting her, stating she "choked" under pressure from a hostile judge.

The POTUS posted on Truth Social that he "disagrees 100 percent" with Pirro, reiterating his claim that individuals sliced the pool liner with box cutters.

Reports indicated Trump "read her the riot act" during a tense, face-to-face Oval Office meeting. While top officials note Pirro remains on thin ice, her long-standing relationship with Trump has kept her in her post for the time being.

Before being narrowly confirmed as Attorney General, Todd Blanche was asked if his boss was going to fire Pirro.

“Hypothetically, if the president chose to fire a United States attorney, it turns out he’s allowed to do that because he’s the president of the United States,” Blanche said. “And, by the way, if President Trump wanted to fire anybody within his administration, he understands he has the power to do that. So when he makes a decision about whether to fire a U.S. attorney or anybody else, that’s his call.”

Pirro has not publicly commented on her job security or potential firing, but she did meet with Trump at the White House amid intense speculation about her future. During that meeting, Pirro did not offer to resign.
