President Donald Trump raised eyebrows and sparked Democratic criticism over his close connection to 35-year-old White House aide Natalie Harp following their weekend getaway at the president's Bedminster, N.J., golf club.
New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman reported that Trump heavily relies on Harp for emotional reassurance. She noted that Harp acts as the president's "comfort blanket" or "human binkie.”
“She is sort of his Binkie, for lack of a better way of putting it — his comfort blanket,” Haberman told MS NOW host Jacob Soboroff over the weekend.

Natalie Harp is reportedly referred to by staffers as Donald Trump's 'human printer.'
Public scrutiny intensified following revelations that Trump chose Harp as one of only three guests to join him on a military escape flight from Air Force One due to an Iranian assassination threat, leaving top cabinet officials like Secretary of State Marco Rubio behind on the decoy plane.
Harp, who earns a $150,000 annual salary at the White House, acts as a near-constant companion.
Reportedly known by staffers as the "human printer," she trails the president to manage his late-night Truth Social posts and supply him with positive news stories printed from a portable machine.
Natalie Harp Left Personal Letters for Donald Trump in Private Spaces

Natalie Harp's estranged brother called her relationship with Donald Trump 'unhealthy.'
Authors and journalists have reported that Secret Service personnel and Trump aides previously raised alarms regarding the intensity of her dedication. This includes her habit of leaving deeply personal "love letters" for Trump in his private spaces. Her own estranged brother, Preston Harp, publicly criticized the dynamic, calling it "very unhealthy.”
Rising Democratic star Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia took a dig at the relationship over the weekend, too.
“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks. So he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar,” Ossoff said at a campaign rally.

Where's Melania?

Donald Trump hasn't been seen in public with his wife, Melania, since July.
Podcast host Jeff Storobinsky posted the question many are wondering on X, asking, “And Melania stays in the marriage because?”
While Melania Trump has chosen to remain entirely silent on the matter, the dynamic between her husband and his assistant has frequently thrust her name into the spotlight.
In June, reports emerged that the octogenarian commander-in-chief told White House staff that Natalie was "the only one who loved him as much as his wife" and his children and remarked that she would "never leave him."

Natalie Harp attended Lindsey Graham's funeral alongside Donald Trump instead of his wife, Melania.
The elderly president explicitly likened Harp's loyalty to Melania's, drawing significant media attention and public scrutiny to how the comparison stands out.
Media outlets have highlighted Melania's prolonged absences from public life — including her choice to skip high-profile events like Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral.
Harp attended the funeral at President Trump's side instead, leading commentators to note the optics of an aide stepping into a space typically reserved for the First Lady.
