Jenna Bush Hager detailed a moment in which her daughter had a meltdown in front of her "regal" former First Lady mother, Laura Bush.

The mom-of-three revealed her oldest daughter's fit from when she was just 3 years old while discussing discipline with Sheinelle Jones on the August 11 episode of TODAY With Jenna and Sheinelle.

"My mom was in town, in downtown New York, where we lived," Bush Hager recalled. "My mom had secret service and such. We were all at the store buying Mila a new pair of shoes for school."

Jenna Bush Hager recalled the public fit with her former First Lady mother.

Laura is the wife of former President George W. Bush and the mother of Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara.

The now 13-year-old asked her mother and grandmother for a watch while the trio was shopping for her back-to-school outfits in August of that year.

"And my mom was like, 'No, you can't have the watch.' And [Mila] just noodled," the anchor continued. "You know when you go boneless, completely boneless. Kicking."

Laura's response sent the toddler into a tailspin, causing her to kick and scream, demanding that her grandmother buy her the watch that she wanted so desperately.

Jenna Bush Hager scolded Mila Hager for melting down in front of her grandmother.

"Throwing a huge fit," Jenna continued. "With my regal, lovely mother. I mean, none of her hair came uncoiffed or anything. But she was standing there."

The former president's daughter scolded her child for throwing such a massive fit in front of her "gracious" grandmother, whom her kids refer to as "Grammy."

"Mila Hager, don't do this in front of Grammy," she remembered saying through clenched teeth. "You know, that kind of shame."

Jenna Bush Hager recalled dragging her daughter out of a store.

Despite the scolding, little Mila refused to let up, forcing Jenna and Laura to physically remove her from the store.

"We had to drag her back to our apartment and people were staring and pointing," she added. "The truth is, it didn't matter; she wasn't getting the watch."

"You've got to keep it down," Jenna concluded.

Jenna Bush Hager shares Mila, Poppy and Hal with her husband, Henry Hager.

Jenna shares three children with her husband, Henry Hager, whom she married in 2008. She frequently shares stories of Mila, Poppy, 10, and Hal, 7, on the morning talk show.

In an interview with Parents Magazine, which was published on August 11, Jenna explained how she maintains her family's privacy while hosting the show every morning.

"I think both of us put the privacy of our children and the happiness of our children above anything that has to do with television," she said of herself and Sheinelle.

"I sort of ask myself before I speak, like, 'Is this for me?'," she elaborated. "Is this like information that she just wants safe inside our home, and is it my story to tell, or is it her story and I’m telling it?”
