Craig Melvin was caught crashing a live segment.

Craig Melvin got caught red-handed sneaking onto a segment of TODAY With Jenna and Sheinelle.
Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager were about to kick off a live segment about late summer recipes with chef Alex Guarnaschelli on the August 13 episode of their morning talk show when Melvin was spotted on the set.
"Before we get into this recipe, though, I have to… we have a thief!” Guarnaschelli said ahead of the cooking segment.
Craig Melvin was caught in the act.
Craig Melvin snuck onto the set of 'TODAY With Jenna and Sheinelle' for a bite to eat.
Viewers could spot the veteran anchor sneaking onto the set from backstage while dressed down in a blue polo and a pair of jeans following his own segments during the hours prior.
He attempted to grab a delectable-looking chicken wing that Guarnaschelli was about to use for her recipe demonstration without being noticed.
"Are you on?" he asked innocently while on his way backstage, prompting Jones and Bush Hager to snap at him.
'It's Great Chicken'
Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager snapped at Craig Melvin as he snuck away.
"Craig! Are you serious?" Bush Hager exclaimed, with Jones adding, "Are you joking?"
Melvin immediately got defensive as he attempted to duck back down behind the set.
"It’s great chicken; I’m sorry! I’m so sorry,” he looked sheepish with his hands raised in the air.
The women were immediately sympathetic to his desire to try the dish that they had already been snacking on and encouraged their co-worker to double back for a taste of the sauce that accompanied it.

Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones tried to move on with the segment after the interruption.
"I would have brought you some," Bush Hager pointed out, as Jones guided him toward the delicious-looking dips.
"It is so good. Do you want to try some of the dip?" she asked.
Bush Hager agreed that the dip was the "best part" of the setup. Melvin took a swipe and snuck back off the set once again as laughter from producers filled the room.
Melvin anchors during the first two hours of the Today show, delivering interviews and hard news stories.
'We're Feeling Kind of Drunk'
Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager could hardly get themselves together.
The trio managed to get on with the segment after the surprising interruption, but didn't seem to be able to get totally back into their well-rehearsed rhythm.
Jones and Bush Hager dove into their antics once again by the time Guarnaschelli brought out her dessert while promoting her restaurant's upcoming partnership with the U.S. Open.
"Am I going to have to separate you two?" the chef asked as the hosts began swiping food from one another.
"We're feeling kind of drunk [on the food]," Bush Hager joked.
