The ex-POTUS posted an update on his health issues on social media.

"This year is more personal to me," he began. "More than 330,000 American men this year will hear the words we did last spring when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. By the time we found it, it had already spread to my bones."

"When prostate cancer is caught early, the five-year survival is close to 100%," the ex-POTUS explained.

Biden announced he was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in May 2025, with the illness spreading to his bones.

Joe Biden thanked his medical team for their hard work in taking care of him.

"So have the conversation with your doctor. Don't put it off," Biden urged. He then expressed his gratitude to the doctors and nurses who helped "control my cancer," and who "continue to take such good care of me."

“Their skill, dedication, and compassion mean so much. The radiation treatment from last fall worked as intended, and I continue to do the things I care about, like finishing my memoir,” he said.

Joe Biden finished up his radiation treatment last fall.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out and continues to keep me and my family in your prayers. We appreciate every single one of you," Biden penned.

"It’s my hope and prayer that by sharing our experience and being part of this important conversation, we can help save lives. Talk to your doctors. Ask the hard questions. Do it for yourself, and do it for the people who love you," he concluded.

The politician completed his treatment in October 2025, with his son Hunter, 56, revealing last month his father's condition is “very debilitating."

Hunter Biden previously revealed his father’s cancer had spread.

"The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” the artist told the BBC at the time. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”

“It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter sighed. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”

Despite Joe's illness, the disbarred former attorney dished his dad is staying strong and is "still doing his thing."

"He so believes in this country," he said, adding Joe's forthcoming memoir, Promise Me, America, is still in the works.

Promise Me, America is set to hit bookshelves on November 17.
