A source stressed that the songstress “is not in the best place emotionally” right now, adding that although she appears to be all smiles while filming her hit daytime TV show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, her ongoing drama is something “she absolutely doesn’t want” the world to see.

“Kelly trusted Brandon with her heart and career — he controlled almost every element of her life,” the insider told Us Weekly for the outlet's February 8 print edition, noting that she can’t help but “feel duped” now that he has fired back at the singer's recent claims.

As OK! was the first to reveal, Clarkson filed a claim to the California Labor Commissioner's Office in October 2020 that her agreement with Starstruck Management (owned by Blackstock and his dad, Narvel) was a "fraudulent and subterfuge device" for her managers to perform "illegal services" as agents, despite being unlicensed in the state of California, and therefore she should get back all the money she earned while under such devices.

Clarkson has used music as a distraction from her nasty divorce battle, and kept herself busy during this time. This week has been a big one for the American Idol alum. Not only did she announce the return of the hit NBC competition show, The Voice, on Twitter, but she also released a new music video with her Team Kelly season 17 winner, Jake Hoot.

Clarkson and Hoot teamed up for the emotional video of their song “I Would’ve Loved You.” The beautifully shot music video is set in the Los Angeles Wiltern Theatre as the two powerhouse vocalists give a chilling performance of their new tune.
