The One That Has Fans Worried: Matthew Perry Slurs His Speech While Promoting 'Friends' Reunion — Watch
Is Matthew Perry okay?
The 51 year-old, alongside his former co-stars David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc, sat down with PEOPLE to chat about what it has been like reuniting with the iconic cast and how starring on the hit show changed their lives. When asked if he ever took a souvenir from the old set, he stated "I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it," (pronouncing a distinct "sh" sound at the beginning of “stole.").
In addition to that specific statement, his mannerisms during the sit down, which also featured Jennifer Anniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, seemed a bit off.
Fans quickly took notice and began to wonder if the star was okay. One fan even commenting, “It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this, he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly.”
Another chimed in, "Just saw People interview and can’t believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart."

Although fans were stunned, most sent love to the 17 Again actor by wishing him the best with one in particular stating "Just watched @people exclusive interview clip of Friends casts and the time hasn’t been kind. I hope Matthew Perry is okay. Damn how much I love them."
Perry has suffered from addiction in the past and has been extremely honest about his struggles. As OK! previously reported, the funny man was really "leaning on his friends" as he was focusing on living a sober life and staying healthy this past fall.
Perry is also engaged to literary coach Molly Hurwitz and is planning a "casual wedding" for this upcoming summer. The couple split in May of 2020 but resumed their relationship in November of 2020 by getting engaged.
OK! also exclusively reported that Perry is set to pen a memoir about his addiction hurdles, love woes, and health problems throughout his entire life. The source says, "He's been secretly writing his memoir for a while now, and it promises to be one of the juiciest reads in years."
But no matter what happens, the embattled actor will have his Friends costars there for him no matter what. As David Schwimmer puts it “Over the years we’ve all struggled with different obstacles and challenges, and I think in those times it’s been nice to reach out and touch base and have a call.”
