Matty Healy's mom, Denise Welch, came to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's defense in a social media post.
The British actress, 68, shared a screenshot on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, August 30, of a photo of the Duke of Sussex, 41, as a young kid during his mother Princess Diana's 1997 funeral.

Denise Welch shared a photo of a young Prince Harry on Instagram.
The image showed Harry looking sad and forlorn during the solemn event, which he attended when he was only 12 years old.
"And when this little boy finally found happiness, what did we do? We tore his wife to pieces for fun. Just as we did to his mother," the photo's text read.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left The Firm six years ago.
Welch fiercely defended the Suits star, 45, and Spare author, writing on the graphic: "Completely agree. The extent of media bullying is disgraceful. It is a blood sport for the papers here [in the United Kingdom]."
Meghan and Harry left The Firm in 2020 and moved to California in an effort to get out of the royal limelight. The pair previously cited intense media intrusion, scrutiny and privacy concerns for stepping back as senior members of the family and fleeing the country.

Denise Welch Is a Longtime Supporter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Denise Welch previously said she's 'sick to death of the bashing' of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex and the army veteran just moved back to England with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. The change comes amid reports that Harry is trying to rebuild his relationship with King Charles, who is still battling canner.
As for Welch, she's been a mainstay supporter of the couple for years, and has come to their defense on several occasions.
During a May 2024 appearance on the ITV talk show Loose Women, the Waterloo Road star said she's “sick to death of the bashing” of Harry and Meghan.
She added the As Ever founder has "continuously been trashed by the media."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved back to the U.K. earlier this month.
"I have read lots of stories about Meghan before and I think it is a disgrace the way she has been treated," Welch added.
In 2024, Welch also took to her Instagram to share a photo of Meghan during her tour of Nigeria and blasted critics. “Meghan Markle has been a spokeswoman for women of colour and gender equality since she was 11 [years] old," the TV personality wrote online.
"She has held a place on the world stage for years before she met Harry as a UN women's advocate. I am appalled that this woman is abused and berated by the public and media on a daily basis," she scoffed. "Not many people could mentally cope with the hate she contends with. No wonder her husband took her away and despite everything they are thriving."
