Meghan Markle Laughs About 'Very Different' Lifestyle Before Marrying Prince Harry In Teaser For New 'Ellen' Interview
Meghan Markle is making an unexpected appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the first time ever.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode set to air on Thursday, November 18, the 40-year-old sat down with Ellen Degeneres for her first daytime talk show appearance since joining the royal family.
The Suits alum — who tied the knot with Prince Harry, 37, back in 2018 — appeared to be in high spirits as she cracked jokes about her life before becoming the Duchess of Sussex.
In the preview clip, Markle reflected on her time working as an actress, specifically when she would show up for auditions at the Warner Bros lot (the same studio where The Ellen Degeneres Show is filmed).
“The security guards would always say, ‘Break a leg! We hope you get it!’” she recalled, insisting that her drive in for Thursday’s interview was “very different,” after becoming one of the most talked about public figures in recent years.
Markle also noted that security guards probably didn’t even know who she was at the time. “I think they probably said it to everybody. That’s how nice they were,” she added.
The mother-of-two went on to detail her life as a hopeful actress, sharing a unique story about the old Ford Explorer she used to drive.
“It had a life of its own,” she said of the “very, very old car,” noting that “the key stopped working on the driver’s side, so you couldn’t get yourself through the door.”

Markle then made the audience burst into laughter when she described the way she would get into her beaten-up vehicle when arriving at the studio for auditions.
“I would park in the back of the parking lot and open the trunk, then climb in and pull it shut behind me and crawl over all my seats,” she said while laughing. “That’s how I would come to and fro.”
She also added that she would “play it off” as if she was pretending to look for items in her trunk before jumping inside.
Thursday’s Ellen episode marks the first time Markle will appear on the show, and the first time she has been on a daytime talk show since her nuptials to Prince Harry.
The pair previously sat down for their bombshell tell-all with Oprah Winfrey, where they voiced their reasons for leaving their royal roles.
Since stepping away from the Palace, the couple have since started a new life in Montecito, Calif., where they actually are neighbors to Degeneres.
They also have two children: son Archie, 2, and 5-month-old daughter Lilibet who they welcomed earlier this year.
