Variety reporter Matt Donnelly recently appeared on Tom Sykes' "The Royalist" podcast, where he divulged why the Duchess of Sussex, 44, would "disappear" during her talks.

"Multiple sources told me that, when Meghan would sit, especially in meetings regarding her brand As Ever, her lifestyle and homewares range, when she heard feedback she didn't like, or heard ideas that she didn't think were appropriate, she would turn her Zoom camera off to express her displeasure," Donnelly said.
"It's certainly an interesting way to provide feedback in Hollywood," he joked.
'With Love, Meghan' Was Not Renewed for Season 3

Meghan Markle's Netflix docuseries was not renewed for another season.
Meghan's As Ever brand and the streamer parted ways last month, with her cooking show With Love, Meghan also not being renewed for season 3.
Donnelly penned a scathing exposé on the royal couple and their journey to break into Tinseltown for Variety, which was published on March 17.
Her lawyer Michael J. Kump dismissed the reports of Meghan's behavior and shared the reasons for her abrupt departures from meetings.

Meghan Markle 'works from home' because she is a parent.
He reasoned that Meghan “works from home, is the mother of young children aged 4 and 6, and often encounters children who enter the space unexpectedly during a meeting.” She shares kids Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, with husband Prince Harry, 41.
“Independent of being a parent who works from home, Meghan is also conscious of shielding her team from the distraction of children,” he said. “Nearly all professionals can attest to needing to turn off the audio or camera during a virtual meeting at some point during many hours of virtual business calls.”
She reportedly also spoke over the Duke of Sussex during conferences when he would be talking mid-sentence. However, Meghan's lawyer noted to Variety the claim “seems calculated to play into the misogynistic characterization of her bossing her husband around."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been trying to break into Hollywood for years.
Meghan and Harry signed a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020 to produce content and documentary series following their exit from the royal family.
Donnelly then explained on the podcast how hard Hollywood is to break into — even for former members of The Firm.
"Hollywood is a working culture. It's a business like any other," he said. "There's not so much decorum. I think it's maybe what the Sussexes are used to."
