Melania Trump Hasn't Been Seen for 25 Days as She Skips 2 Major Washington, D.C., Events

First Lady Melania Trump has stepped away from the public eye for an extended period, generating widespread speculation after she was not seen for roughly a month and missed multiple high-profile events in Washington, D.C.

An audit by The Daily Beast revealed that the elusive FLOTUS has kept an unusually light public schedule during President Donald Trump's second presidential term, appearing in public on only 38 days over the first seven months of 2026.

Her last confirmed public appearance was on July 19, when she attended the FIFA World Cup final in East Rutherford, N.J., alongside her husband.

During her absence from the public spotlight, the First Lady did not attend several prominent capital gatherings, including the White House Correspondents’ Dinner redux and Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral.

While the White House and the First Lady’s press office have declined to share specific details about her whereabouts, her absence coincided with heightened security concerns.

In late July, the U.S. Secret Service became aware of an Iran-linked video explicitly targeting FLOTUS and son Barron Trump, prompting increased safety protocols for individuals under their protection.

Long absences are not entirely unprecedented for her; she previously stepped away from public view for 24 days during her husband's first term in 2018 and recorded similar multi-week absences from Washington in 2025.

Some suggest Melania has been replaced by the POTUS’ devoted aide, 35-year-old Natalie Harp, who has been described by her brother as “infatuated” with the president.

“I have long pondered the Natalie question, wondering, as I’ve noted, if, like Unity Mitford, the posh sister of Nancy and Jessica who became obsessed with Hitler and hung around his dining haunts in Munich until they crossed paths, Natalie’s devotion to Trump had morphed into something deeper than being his so-called “human printer,” noted Tina Brown in her “Fresh H---” Substack.

Harp has been ubiquitous alongside the POTUS during official travel, campaign stops and private meetings.

Her near-constant presence recently sparked widespread media attention and a political feud, with insiders saying Melania is locked in a power struggle with her as well.

“To a losing, dilapidated, lame-duck POTUS with an unassuageable ego, did Harp’s perky presence become a consolation prize?” Brown wondered, emphasizing the POTUS’ penchant for brushing off scandal.

“There is no such thing as a s-- scandal for Trump, whose entire life has been priapic plunder from Jeffrey Epstein’s libidinous parties to sexual abuse of E. Jean Carroll in a Bergdorf’s dressing room to hotel assignations with Stormy Daniels soon after his wife gave birth, most of it greeted with a collective shrug by the American public. But the rise of Natalie Harp may represent something different,” Brown noted.

Still, eyebrows are raised, and everyone’s wondering what role, exactly, Harp plays in the president’s increasingly isolated life.

“Like Trump, Harp never seems to sleep. Those drop-offs of the latest conspiracy theories to Trump’s private quarters in the small hours – do they, like Monica Lewinsky’s pizza deliveries to Bill Clinton in 1995 during the government shutdown, come with any benefits? Or is it simply a star-struck groupie’s obsession with power? (Historians are still debating whether it was with Unity and the Führer),” she mused.
