CNN pundits and journalists are speculating that First Lady Melania Trump is "ghosting" President Donald Trump because she may no longer be living at the White House.
During a segment on CNN's Table for Five, media analysts discussed her notable absence from public life, noting that she has not been seen with the president since July 4th.
Journalist Joanna Coles noted that an audit conducted by The Daily Beast reveals Melania Trump has completed a third fewer public appearances than Jill Biden and 78 percent fewer speeches than Michelle Obama, making her the "least visible first lady of the entire century."
"We haven't seen her since July 4th," Coles said. "So the question is, what is the First Lady doing? The United States has a First Lady, and she is almost never at the president's side."
'She Doesn't Appear to Live at the White House'

Melania Trump's independent lifestyle drastically differs from traditional expectations of the first lady.
Coles and other reporters stated they are "pretty confident" that she chooses to reside primarily in Florida or New York rather than Washington, D.C.
"She doesn't appear to live at the White House," Coles said. "So she either lives in Florida or in New York, which is kind of odd, but she just doesn't show up."
Pundits on the panel highlighted how her independent lifestyle shifts traditional expectations of the White House.
NPR journalist Ayesha Rascoe suggested that Donald Trump has taken over many duties typically handled by a first lady, such as White House redesigns, leaving her with fewer obligations.
'He's Taking the First Lady Role Too'

CNN panelists noted Donald Trump has taken over tasks the first lady typically oversees.
"Trump is taking a lot of the stuff that a First Lady would do," she said as Coles burst into hysterics.
"He's redesigning the White House; he's redecorating," Rascoe said. "He wants to do everything. He's taking the First Lady role too."
Former aides have historically defended her right to privacy, stating that Melania is an independent woman who operates her office separately from the West Wing and navigates her high-profile role entirely on her own terms.
Biographer Michael Wolff has claimed that Donald and Melania are lead entirely separate lives, stating there is "hardly even the pretense that she lives in the White House.”

Donald and Melania Trump Reportedly Lead Separate Lives

Michael Wolff previously claimed Donald and Melania Trump lead entirely separate lives.
In his book All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America and in various columns, Wolff has focused heavily on Melania's near-total absence from the campaign trail and Washington life.
According to Wolff's reporting, White House staffers are often left completely in the dark regarding her whereabouts and schedule, creating a sense of terror over her unpredictability.
Wolff wrote that Mar-a-Lago patio regulars and political insiders openly discuss how much Melania dislikes her husband, noting that the relationship reached its lowest point following the Stormy Daniels trial.
The bestselling bombshell book Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump reports that the first couple leads largely "parallel lives," highlighting that they maintain entirely separate bedrooms and even engage in petty competitions over White House decor.
Melania Trump Allegedly 'Unhappy' With Donald's White House Redesigns

Melania Trump reportedly grew frustrated with Donald Trump over his White House makeover.
The book details that Donald took advantage of Melania's frequent absences from Washington to push through layout changes he wanted. Melania was reportedly "very unhappy" with his plans to pave over parts of her highly prized first-term Rose Garden redesign.
Tension further spiked after the East Wing — which traditionally houses the Office of the First Lady — was demolished to make room for a new White House ballroom.
Regime Change also portrays a highly transactional arrangement between the two. While they present a united front in official appearances, Melania fiercely guards her personal autonomy, frequently retreating to her residences at Trump Tower in New York or Mar-a-Lago in Florida rather than staying by her husband's side.
