Melania Trump Will 'Not Show Up' If Donald Trump's Loyal Aide Natalie Harp Is Present, Biographer Claims Amid Women's 'Power Struggle'

Melania Trump has avoided making public appearances with her husband, President Donald Trump, due to the constant presence of his 35-year-old executive assistant, Natalie Harp, according to allegations made by Trump biographer Michael Wolff.

Writing in his Substack newsletter "Howl," Wolff reported that a "secret power struggle" has emerged.

“Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around,” Michael wrote. “Since Harp was always around, Melania never was — appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.”

Recent reports highlighted the growing friction surrounding the unique level of access and influence held by the 35-year-old blonde, whose brother admitted she was “infatuated with Trump."

Michael alleged that Melania has little interest in sharing space with her.

“Other than at ceremonial occasions, or in a strictly official capacity, she has given up the role of wife,” wrote Wolff, who has been embroiled in his own court battles with the FLOTUS over defamation allegations, among other things. “Practically speaking, there is no room for her.”

Public data supports the drop in appearances; The Daily Beast tracking analysis showed Melania was seen publicly only 47 times in 2025 and just 38 days through the first seven months of 2026.

Natalie, a former television host who originally bonded with Donald after praising his "Right to Try" legislation during her fight with bone cancer, serves as a core gatekeeper.

She is famously nicknamed the "human printer" because she trails Donald with a portable printer, feeding him positive media coverage and unvetted news stories.

In the bombshell bestseller Regime Change by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, it was revealed that Natalie frequently left deeply personal notes for the president, including one reading, "You are all that matters to me.”

The president reportedly assured White House staff that Natalie loved him as much as his own family and would never leave his side.

The intense optics of Natalie accompanying Donald everywhere — including a highly selective, secure plane switch during a trip to Turkey — have triggered public scrutiny.

“It’s a Christian devotional relationship,” an aide told the journalist of the relationship.

Rising star and Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff explicitly criticized the arrangement, drawing a fierce counterattack from Donald and the White House communications team against reporters pressing the issue.

White House officials have vehemently pushed back on the narrative. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung strongly dismissed Michael's reporting, calling the author a fraud who fabricates stories.

A formal White House statement defended Natalie calling her a "beloved White House Official" and stating that critics "will never understand what it's like to be as trusted and admired as her.”

The writer disagrees, writing, “Harp superseded the White House staff and, as well, his wife and family. Nobody got between Harp and Trump. And you only got to Trump by going through Harp.”
