COUPLES'The Absolute Scariest Thing': Jana Kramer's Daughter, 4, Ventured Into Stranger's Car At The Park
One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer shared an important message about stranger danger after the mother of two had an unfortunate incident occur with daughter Jolie on Monday, January 4.
Kramer took to Instagram to explain her day at the park with husband Mike Caussin and their two kids, Jolie, 4, and Jace, 2, when "the absolute scariest thing" happened. Click here to see Kramer's post.
"Jolie met a sweet little girl and they started running around," the 37-year-old began to explain via her caption. "I watch my kids like hawks, but Jolie was running around in the play house so it was hard at times to see her. Needless to say, I always had a watch on her."
Kramer noted that she "went down the slide with [my son], Jace, again and I saw Jolie running around again with her sweet friend."
While Caussin "was also patrolling," the couple lost sight of their eldest child.
"The next minute, a lady walked up to me and said, 'Your daughter just got into a white SUV,'" the actress explained. "My heart went straight to my gut and I said, 'WHAT?!!!'"
The worried mama ran as fast as she could to the parking lot where she then "saw Jolie and the little girl coming around the back of the car to which the little girls mom was in car."
"I clung to Jolie so quick and caught my breath and tried to turn off all the 'what if's' going through my brain," the "I Got the Boy" singer recalled.
While noting what "an eye opening experience" it was, Kramer urged other parents to be "super present" with their kids. "Literally in a blink of a second...that's how fast a kid could be taken," she wrote.
Kramer also advised parents to have the stranger danger talk with their children, which she hadn't done yet.
"I think I expected her to know she can't leave without mommy or daddy and plus I was always watching," she explained. "I'm grateful we had the talk today."
Bachelor alum Jamie Otis thanked the Dancing with the Stars alum for sharing her story and commented, "I've never had the talk with my daughter, [Henley], but I'm definitely going to now! So glad everything is OK." Model and mother of one Jessi Malay added: "Absolutely terrifying, my heart dropped reading this!"
Kramer and her hubby wed in 2015 and welcomed Jolie one year later and Jace in 2018. As OK! previously reported, the couple has had a rocky relationship, as the NFL player, 33, was involved in a cheating scandal the same year the duo welcomed Jolie.
However, after receiving treatment for Caussin's sex addiction and renewing their vows in 2017, the couple said they are ready to consider expanding their family once more.
