'He Feels Blindsided': Rebel Wilson Dumped Boyfriend Jacob Busch Via Text, Insider Reveals
Ouch! Rebel Wilson dumped boyfriend Jacob Busch via a text, a source revealed.
"They went to Aspen right before the holidays and had a blast. Then, he left for Florida to be with his family, and he invited her because he really wanted her to meet [them] but she never committed to doing that," an insider spilled. “They talked all throughout the holidays and had excellent communication, but then, all of a sudden, she got really quiet and broke up with him via text message about two or three weeks ago.”
Busch is said to be "really upset" by the split. "It was very hurtful," the insider said, but the 29-year-old has "no ill-will towards her."
The hunk has "been crazy about her ever since 2019" and "would get together on and off throughout the years. They maintained their friendship and then became boyfriend and girlfriend in late summer."
Wilson made the split public when she posted a snap via Instagram on Wednesday, February 3, writing, "Lots on my mind. … Aghhhhhh. … #single-girl-heading-to-Super-Bowl!"
"HOLD UP... SINGLE?!" one fan asked.
"Sounds like it’s time for some restorative alone time. Hang in there, Rebel," another told the 40-year-old.
Apparently, Busch was thrown off by the Instagram message. "He was trying to make amends since he received the text, and then today when he saw the post, that’s [when] he realized they were officially over," the insider said.
Busch has reportedly been looking for "full closure on why she decided to break up with him to begin with."
"He’s at a loss for words right now. He feels blindsided. He’s still taking it in. He really thought she was going to be his life partner," the source added.

The couple went public in September 2020 when Wilson shared a photo of the pair boarding a helicopter with Helen Mirren and Kate Beckinsale. Not too long after that they made their red carpet debut at the Monte-Carlo Gala For Planetary Health in Monaco and from then on, they were regularly featured on each other’s social media accounts.
"They met last year and started casually dating before coronavirus hit," a source previously spilled about the couple. "When she returned back to the U.S., they picked back up dating again and became serious."
"This is the first guy she's met who is a match for her humor and personality. Someone who has his own life and success and isn't intimidated by her," a source said at the time. "He's entrepreneurial and they're both very business-minded."
Us Weekly was the first to report that Wilson broke up with Busch via text.
