Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that a previous court ruling left him homeless, with "no legal residence" and unable to vote in any state, creating a highly unusual legal predicament.
While speaking to reporters about homelessness in Los Angeles, Calif., Kennedy was asked if he was registered to vote ahead of the city's upcoming mayoral election.
He responded by calling his situation "very strange" and claiming, "I literally have no state where I can legally vote right now."
'I Have No State Where I Can Legally Vote'
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted he's in a 'very strange position.'
He went on to describe himself as potentially the only U.S. citizen in this specific scenario.
“I’m in a very strange position, because when I ran for president, the Democratic Party sued me first to get me off the ballot in 12 states, including New York and California,” he said. “And then when I endorsed President Trump, they sued me to keep me on the ballot in those same states.”
He continued, “And in the course of one of those lawsuits, it was declared that I had no legal residence, and so... I’m in a dilemma where I literally have no state where I can legally vote right now. I’m probably the only person in the country who’s a legal citizen who has that dilemma, but I’m still trying to figure it out before the next election.”

The voting restriction stems from a legal dispute that originated during his 2024 independent presidential campaign.
In August 2024, New York Judge Christina Ryba ruled that Kennedy should be removed from the state's ballot because he used a "sham" address. Kennedy claimed residency using a spare bedroom he rented in Katonah, N.Y.
The judge concluded that Kennedy actually resides in California with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, and that his claimed New York residence was a "false statement.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was previously accused of voter fraud due to his residence discrepancies.
Because a court rejected his claimed residency arrangement, Kennedy asserted that the ruling effectively stripped him of an established legal voting residence, creating a logistical limbo as he attempts to resolve the issue.
The residency dispute continues to follow the Health Secretary. In January 2025, the progressive watchdog group Accountable.US filed an official complaint accusing the politician of voter fraud.
The complaint alleged that he illegally used the invalidated Katonah address to cast a mail-in ballot during the November 2024 election despite having full knowledge of the judge’s prior ruling.
