Sean 'Diddy' Combs Could Still Face Trial Over Tupac Murder If New Evidence Emerges, Clark County D.A. Says: 'We Can Always File Additional Charges'

Sean "Diddy" Combs could face charges over Tupac Shakur's death, a district attorney alleged.

Duane "Keffe D" Davis was found guilty on Monday, August 31, of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang in connection with Shakur's 1996 Las Vegas, Nev., killing.

Some have claimed there is still more evidence to sort through.

"At this point, we don't believe we have sufficient evidence to charge anyone else with the death of Tupac Shakur," Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said after the verdict. "But, like any other case, if we come into more information, more evidence, we can always consider filing additional charges."

According to TMZ, the county official isn't ruling out Combs' potential involvement in the case, but it was noted that there is certainly not enough evidence to convict him at this time.

During the two-week trial, Davis told the jury that Combs offered him $1 million to kill Shakur and music producer Suge Knight, who was driving the car when gunfire rang out. Knight survived the shooting.

"He said he’d give us anything for those dudes’ heads," Davis also told police in 2008, per The New York Times.

Combs, however, has repeatedly denied any involvement in the drive-by killing.

When the allegations first came out years prior, Combs called Davis' statements "pure fiction and completely ridiculous."

He is currently serving an unrelated sentence of four years in prison in Fort Dix, N.J., for two counts of transporting people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

A jury acquitted him last summer of more serious charges, including one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of s-- trafficking.

Despite Davis' allegations, Combs had not been the subject of investigation since the case of Shakur's death was reopened in 2018.

Davis was arrested in 2023 after seemingly admitting to his role in the killing on multiple occasions, including in interviews and his own memoir.

He has since backtracked those claims, even going as far as to allege that he wasn't even in Las Vegas at the time.

According to prosecutors, the Crips leader organized his gang to go after Shakur and Knight after the pair allegedly beat up his nephew Orlando Anderson at MGM Grand earlier the same night.

Following his conviction, Davis could be sentenced to up to a lifetime in prison. His sentencing will be held on October 13.
