Cher, 77, Admits Younger Boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards, 37, Doesn't Understand 'Most of My References' Due to Their Age-Gap

Cher is fully aware the age difference between herself and Alexander “AE” Edwards is pretty big.

During a recent interview, the music icon, 77, admitted that sometimes her boyfriend, 37, does not understand what she's talking about because they were each born in different generations.

"Sometimes I'm talking to him, and he has no idea who I'm talking about… The other day, I said, 'Do you know who, I don't know, Clark Gable, [is]?' Somebody said, 'Yes, of course,' but most of my references… He'll look at me and go, 'I wasn't born yet,'" Cher admitted.

Despite their different viewpoints, the unlikely pair have continued to go from strength to strength in their relationship. "I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together," the "Dark Lady" vocalist gushed over the record executive.

"We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He's a got a great sense of humor, he's got the cutest son in the world, ever… We just get each other," she revealed while adding that Alexander is "more obviously shy" and "reserved" than she is.

Although the duo briefly called it quits this spring, Cher and Alexander were right back in the swing of things by the fall. "Cher just can't quit him," an insider claimed about their rekindling.

Since the couple first got together in November 2022, the public has been endlessly curious about the dynamic between the two. "I think it's fun to be interested in somebody else's love life!" Cher recently admitted of the attention.

"Alexander's got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he's way younger. He's a beautiful man," she gushed over her boyfriend — who she said she was "shocked" she fell for after a friend gave her number to the Def Jam records VP.

"People just don't give out my number. I had been telling all my friends, 'We're too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.' So, I did what I said not to do," Cher explained in a recent interview.

"I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I'm special, so I can say that he's special," she added. "No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it's never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, 'Well, this is doomed.' But we've been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would've been worth it. I've had the best time."
