It 'Definitely Sucks': Jana Kramer Opens Up About Co-Parenting With Estranged Husband Mike Caussin
Honesty hour. Two months after Jana Kramer announced her split from estranged husband Mike Caussin, she opened up about their challenging co-parenting relationship.
"It’s going as good as it can in the early days," the singer and actress, 37, began to explain in a Thursday, June 3, Instagram Story Q&A. However, she admitted there are "a lot of emotions and feelings," adding: "I think we’re doing the best we can, but it definitely sucks."
Despite her tumultuous past relationship, the One Tree Hill alum hasn't closed the door on a possible new flame. "I'm open," Kramer told her followers of dating again. "If there's a beautiful person that comes into my life, I don't wanna be like, 'oh it's too soon,'" she explained.
Meanwhile, the former couple's children — daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 2 — are still trying to cope with their parents' split. While their younger child “will never know any different,” Kramer said, "For Jolie, I kept reminding her how much we love her and giving her a lot of love."
The "I Got the Boy" crooner confessed to having a "super tough" time helping her kids understand this uncertain time.

Kramer announced she and the former NFL player were over on April 21 following their six-year marriage. "I’ve fought y’all. I’ve loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give," she shared at the time in an Instagram statement.
According to their divorce documents, the brunette beauty cited "inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery," as the reason for their split.
Kramer and Caussin have had their fair share of challenges in their relationship over the years. The duo separated in 2016, less than a year after welcoming their daughter, because the athlete had been unfaithful. At the time, Caussin entered treatment for sex addiction after his wife gave him an ultimatum, and the pair renewed their vows the following year.
Kramer previously explained she stayed with the 34-year-old for so long "for the kids." She "didn't want to break up [her] family," the mother-of-two admitted in a May “Whine Down” podcast episode.
