Bush Hager and her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, got into a discussion about men and women's differing abilities to multitask on the Monday, August 31, episode of TODAY With Jenna and Sheinelle.

According to a recent article the pair reported on, men are able to multitask just as well as women, but they tend to do so without as much talking.

"The men in here, close your eyes," Bush Hager said, shaking her head after reading the headline. "Do not look at us."

Jenna Bush Hager felt a director had given her a knowing look.

She went on to call out a director and camera operator, whom she referred to as Davy, that appeared delighted by the finding.

"Davy clapped; his eyes popped," the host added as she rolled her eyes at the men in the room who expressed their resounding agreement.

As Jones reenacted the man's response, Bush Hager accused the director of "mansplaining" to the reporting duo while off camera.

Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager agreed that women do more tasks that require talking.

Bush Hager appeared to be giving the men off-camera the stink-eye throughout Jones' explanation before interjecting with her own thoughts.

"That just means we're better multitaskers," she exclaimed.

The mom-of-three went on to explain how she and her husband choose to split up tasks in their home, adding that her role as the "primary caregiver" requires her to do more talking and multitasking.

"[He has] quieter responsibilities," she explained of her husband, Henry Hager, who handles their finances and insurance.

Jenna Bush Hager referred to herself as the primary caregiver.

"This is very generalized, but most women, at least in my marriage. I'm packing stuff for all the children; I'm unpacking for all of the children," she revealed. "I'm signing up for all of the activities."

"That does take conversation," she pointed out.

She also noted that her children, Poppy, Mila and Hal, most often ask her when they need something, instead of their father.

"That's a louder thing," she concluded her defense of women's multitasking abilities. "A lot of women are carrying a lot."
