Kathy Griffin Accuses 'Former Friend' Dave Grohl of Snubbing Her at the Airport After Donald Trump Photo Scandal: 'He Acted Like He Didn't Know Me'

Kathy Griffin claimed "former friend" Dave Grohl snubbed her at an airport after her infamous Donald Trump photoshoot got her canceled.

The 65-year-old opened up about the encounter on the Wednesday, August 5, installment of her YouTube show, Talk Your Head Off.

"He and I used to be kind of friendly. And we’d email every so often, and I would see him at gigs," she said after stumbling on a photo of herself with the Foo Fighters frontman as she reminisced on celebrity encounters. "And I was in one of their videos one time."

The comedienne reflected on a rift in their relationship after she was ridiculed for posing with a bloodied mask of what appeared to be the president's severed head in 2017 shortly after Trump was first elected.

"I ran into [Grohl] at JFK, and it was at the newsstand, and I didn’t want to initiate a conversation because I was so used to celebrities not wanting anything to do with me or wanting anyone to even see them standing next to me — and telling me so," she recalled.

Griffin alleged the rockstar "acted like he didn't know me" despite their history together.

"Maybe he didn’t see me, ’cause I’m so hard to miss at a newsstand," she added sarcastically.

Grohl was only "two seats" away from the actress on her flight, which had her considering approaching her ex-pal.

"Then I thought, 'No, if he's being like this because of the Trump head picture scandal, it's just going to be awkward,'" Griffin remembered. "And so that's why I say 'my former friend.' But, still an A-plus musician."

Griffin slightly shaded Grohl for his "issues" after he welcomed a baby outside of his 23-year marriage to Jordyn Blum in 2024.

"David is going through a bit of a dip right now in the PR world because he stepped out on his wonderful wife and had a baby with another woman," Griffin mused. "Then made an announcement about it, saying he was going to take care of the baby and was still working on his marriage."

The "Everlong" singer already had three other children: Violet, 20, Harper, 17, and Ophelia, 12. The 57-year-old released a statement about his fourth daughter, whose name has not been publicly shared, shortly after her birth.

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," he said. "I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."

"I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," Grohl continued. "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

Griffin called Grohl's shocking announcement a "bummer" for his female fans.

"It just was a bummer for so many of us chicks that are used to dudes in rock and roll being douchebags," she explained. "And it seemed like Dave Grohl was the only good one."

In 2024, the mother of his fourth child was revealed to be 40-year-old Jennifer Young.
