'My Bad': Kevin Durant Apologizes After Michael Rapaport Shares Receipts Of Heated Exchange Filled With Homophobic Slurs
After Michael Rapaport posted direct messages said to be from an explosive back and forth between him and NBA star Kevin Durant — which show the baller shooting off homophobic and profane remarks — to Instagram and Twitter on Tuesday, March 30, the Brooklyn Nets forward apologized.
"I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think [Kevin Durant] would be among them,” the Sully actor wrote alongside the screenshots of their alleged conversation, which quickly turned nasty. “The [snake emoji] himself is now threatening me, bringing up my wife and wants to fight. This is supposed to be America’s sweetheart right?”
According to the screenshots, the 11-time All-Star attacked Rapaport after he criticized Durant's post-game interview with TNT following Brooklyn's season-opening victory over the Golden State Warriors last December.
During the interview, TNT's Charles Barkley said: "You've really just been working on your game, just trying to get back into your time and condition, correct?" to which Durant simply replied: "Yeah," while keeping his head down.
At the time, Rapaport tweeted: "KD seemed deeply in his feelings with the [TNT] crew after the game. DAMNIT he’s super sensitive about everything. Don’t do the interview."
In response, Durant supposedly direct messaged the actor, calling him a "b*tch," which led Rapaport to respond: "Just do the f*cking interview & if your upset about something they've said SAY SOMETHING. Up there looking like you were gonna cry & sh*t."

The conversation quickly escalated with Durant calling Rapaport a "d*ckhead," according to the screenshots, which have not been verified. He then told the actor to tell his "baby daddy Chuck [Charles Barkley] to be better at his job" and to "frame his questions better," noting that Barkley gave him two options when he asked him the question, leaving Durant to respond either: "yes or no."
As seen in the messages, the NBA player went on to call Rapaport a "c*nt," a "p*ssy," a "pale pasty c*m guzzling b*tch" and swore he'd "spit" in Rapaport's face the next time he saw his "dirty ass." Durant apparently went so far as to request a time and place for the two to meet up in person before asking for his home address via the unverified DMs.
The insults didn't stop there. In another set of screenshots, Durant told Rapaport that he's a "b*tch for even caring how I do an interview," adding that all Rapaport does is "c*ck suck other men for attention." Of the remarks Durant threw at the actor, he also told Rapaport that his "life is a joke" and called him a "f*cking pale c*ck sucker," once again, according to Rapaport's post, adding that he's looking forward to telling the actor all of this in person.
Durant then took it one step further. After making fun of Rapaport for calling his lawyer, according to the post, Durant wrote, "your wife mad as f*ck cuz u wasting that little bit of money on a lawyer cuz you can't take a joke," adding: "your wife doesn't even respect your b*tch ass."
Though Durant has been vague in his response, he seemed to confirm the authenticity of the messages Rapaport posted in a tweet on Tuesday. "Me and mike talk CRAZIER than this on the regular and today he’s pissed....My bad mike, damn!!" Durant wrote. According to more screengrabs, he also apologized to Rapaport via the Atypical star's Instagram comment section.
"I would never fight Mike," he commented on Rapaport's post (in which comments have been limited), according to the below screenshots, before adding in a separate comment: "Wow u acting brand new now?? We been talking like this for years and you get serious today. Wowww. Smhhh."
