Madonna Still Not Feeling 'Very Well' After Life-Threatening Hospitalization: 'It's a Miracle That I'm Here'
Though Madonna appeared to make a full recovery following her scary hospitalization this summer, the singer confessed she's still under the weather.
At the star's Saturday, October 21, concert in Belgium, she took a moment to update fans on her health scare and the aftermath.
"Less than four months ago, I was in a hospital and I was unconscious, and people were thinking, predicting that I might not make it. It’s a f------ miracle that I’m here right now," she declared of performing for thousands of people. "My mother, god bless her, she must be watching over me — she said, 'Girl, it’s not your time to go.'”
"I had this strange thought. I suddenly had sympathy for my mother, not about the dying part, but how lonely she must have felt being in a hospital, knowing that she wasn’t going to live," the Grammy winner, 65, added of her mom, who died of breast cancer in 1963. "I was given another chance, so I’m very grateful for that."
The music icon — who kicked off her world tour in October after being forced to delay the shows due to a serious bacterial infection — then confessed she wasn't in the best shape.
"I must tell you I don’t feel very well right now, but I can’t complain, because I’m alive," Madonna declared. "Thank god for my children and all of your love and support."
As OK! reported, insiders claimed the singer's nonstop rehearsals for serious toll on her body.
"She is the one constantly pushing herself, but she has to realize that, while she is as good as the people she is working with, many of them are a fraction of her age and without her history of injuries," a source told a news outlet at the time.

"Of course, there are other acts older than her still on the road, but they aren't dancing and performing like she does," the source added. "But while this sort of illness could affect anyone of any age — and she certainly did not bring this on herself — it is also a reminder that she is as human and as frail as the rest of us."
As she recovered, Madonna was cared for by her six kids, and she broke her silence on the health scare a few weeks later.
