Where Was Savannah Guthrie?

Savannah Guthrie has taken multiple leaves of absence since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared.
She applauded in the stands of the U.S. Open in New York City on August 25 with her spouse as they appeared to enjoy a date night free of their children, Vale, 12, and Charley, 9.
On Tuesday's show, Guthrie said she was ready for the kids to head back to the classroom and start a new season after celebrating the end of summer.
"It’s back-to-school week for everybody,” she gushed. “I’m bringing you a shiny new apple at 7:30.”
Guthrie has taken time away from her regular post at the news desk on multiple occasions this year amid the disappearance of her mom, Nancy Guthrie.

What Happened to Nancy Guthrie?

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February.
Earlier this year, Savannah was forced to take a step back from her job after her mother, Nancy, mysteriously disappeared from her Tucson, Ariz., home.
Police are still investigating the idea that the 84-year-old was forcibly taken in the early morning hours of February 1.
In the wake of her disappearance, Savannah stepped away from the show for several months, returning in April with a sentimental message for worried fans.
"I'm happy to be back," she said of her return in June. "It's like the two hours of my day — it's not that I'm not thinking about it, because I am — but it's something to do. It brings me a lot of joy to be with everybody. But no, it's not easy."
