Ted Cruz recently recalled the moment Donald Trump learned of Elon Musk's bold claim about the president's involvement in the Epstein files.
Per the Senator, the president’s rage was palpable in the room, where they were already holding a meeting, before his trusted aide, Natalie Harp, handed him a printout of the X post.
“His knuckles turn white,” he recounted during his recent appearance on Patrick Bet-David’s “PBD Podcast.”

Ted Cruz said Donald Trump's knuckled turned white from anger when he read Elon Musk's X post.
The Texas Senator stated that he was in the Oval Office discussing school choice when the “human printer” aide brought in the social media post.
“Natalie comes in, [with the tweet] printed on a piece of paper, and hands it to us. And he literally reads that tweet,” he recounted.
He explained that he has such vivid memories of the moment because he was “sitting in the Oval.”
“I don't know what it is yet,” the Republican Party member noted.
However, the president then decided to show the post to the room.
“It happens that second. Like, that second they hand it to him,” he continued.
Ted Cruz said he will never forget seeing Donald Trump in such a state.
“And he was so p—--. I joked, I learned some curse words I didn't even know,” Cruz quipped.
He recounted that at that moment the school choice meeting “went off the rails.”
“We were done talking about school choice, and Trump had some technicolor views to say about Elon,” he noted.
“That's a moment I will never forget, of just, 'Okay, there's a hand grenade thrown in the middle of everything,’” he pointed out.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Public Fall Out Resulted in Deep Distrust
Elon Musk and Donald Trump got tangled in a public feud over the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Trump and Musk had a falling out in early 2025 over the introduction of the One Big Beautiful Bill. The SpaceX founder even went as far as to call it a “disgusting abomination.”
He was pushed out of the White House soon after, and his DOGE was disbanded within days. What followed was a fiery social media battle that also reportedly included off-camera mudslinging.
During such a time, Musk took to his social media platform X to make a scathing post, stating, “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files.”
Donald Trump reportedly still doesn't trust Elon Musk fully after their public falling out.
“That is the real reason they have not been made public,” he continued before adding, “Have a nice day, DJT!”
The X owner took the post down within two days and later admitted that he “went too far,” per ABC News.
Although the two have seemingly mended their relationship in recent months, the president reportedly still doesn't trust the trillionaire totally yet.
