Teen Mom 2's Kailyn Lowry Files Lawsuit Against Briana DeJesus For Defamation, Claims Costar Is Using 'False' Statements For 'Attention'
Mama drama! Reality star Kailyn Lowry has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her Teen Mom 2 costar Briana DeJesus for defamation after DeJesus claimed on social media that the "Coffee Convos" podcast host beat up her baby daddy.
According to court documents filed in Florida, the 29-year-old alleges that DeJesus — who had a fling with Lowry’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin — “asserted that Lowry physically beat [Christopher Lopez], the father of two of Lowry’s sons, and broke into and entered the home of Mr. Lopez’s mother.”
The mother-of-four’s legal team is claiming that DeJesus' remarks are a lie and she made them “for the purpose of causing Lowry harm… Defendant used Lowry to gain additional media attention for herself.”
In court documents, the Hustle and Heart author brought up her long-standing feud with DeJesus, claiming that the mother-of-two “has a history of making false public statements regarding Lowry’s family life.”
Lowry was absent from the June 8 episode of Teen Mom 2. DeJesus shared her thoughts on why her costar was missing, alleging Lowry didn’t want to film regarding an alleged spat with Lopez. Lowry was arrested in October 2020 for allegedly getting physical with Lopez during an argument over their 3-year-old son Lux’s haircut. (The charges were later dropped.)
“I had absolutely no idea that Kail was going to be cut from the show tonight; however, as a cast member who takes pride in being my authentic self and telling my full, true story — the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between — I would be remiss to not address the situation,” she spilled to Celebuzz. “Kail is sitting on the show legitimately filming about a wallpaper color choice when she could be filming about a domestic abuse situation with Chris that I was told she was trying to hide.”

DeJesus continued: “This was back when Lux’s hair was cut and she was allegedly arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Chris. While I understand Kail (and all of us) want to be shown overcoming our struggles and that we all take pride in our names — and Kail takes pride in her brand and her podcasts — at the end of the day, she shouldn’t try to cover up the real her or things that are going on in her real life,” she said, adding, “It comes off as exceptionally inauthentic and an insult to her other cast members.”
Lowry claims the disparaging remarks made by DeJesus “threaten” her “ability to earn a living,” The Sun reported.
A rep for the Pothead Haircare founder released a statement. "Kail is disheartened by the recent untrue statements made by her fellow castmate, Briana Dejesus, concerning Kail's absence from a recent episode and involvement in crimes that she never committed," the statement read to E! News, who reports Lowry is requesting a trial by jury. "Kail takes these statements very seriously. After necessary self-reflection, Kail has decided to handle this situation with Ms. Dejesus by exercising her legal right to protect herself and her brand in Court."
Lowry shares Isaac, 11, with Jo Rivera, Lincoln, 7, with Marroquin, and Lux, 3, and 11-month-old Creed with ex Lopez.
