Family Feud! 'Teen Mom' Star Catelynn Lowell's Brother Claims She Only Got Pregnant 'To Stay Relevant' After Announcing Baby No. 4

After Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell announced she was expecting baby No. 4 with husband Tyler Baltierra, her brother took to Instagram to slam the reality star. 

"Lol my sister got pregnant AGAIN to try and stay relevant," River Lowell wrote on his Instagram Story after the couple announced their pregnancy news. (Catelynn's parents, April and David, broke up when she was a young child and went on to have children with different partners; she shares the same father as River.)

Catelynn has yet to respond to her brother's shade.

On Tuesday, February 23, the reality TV couple revealed the sex of their baby. “We have found that we are going to be having a… drumroll please… another girl!” Lowell told Celebuzz. “While we wanted a boy since this our last, as long as she’s healthy though that’s really all that matters. This is our last and final but we know one day we will have a grandson and adore him.” 

As OK! previously reported, Lowell and Baltierra announced via Instagram they were expecting another bundle of joy shortly after Lowell suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage late last year.  

In one of the photos, Lowell's daughters Novalee, 6, and Vaeda, 2, rocked matching “big sister” tees, while Novalee held up a sign that read, “27 weeks until I become a big sister.” Lowell also shared photos of her ultrasound and positive pregnancy test.

The happy couple welcomed their first daughter, Carly, 11, in 2009 and put her up for adoption — which was chronicled in the MTV series. Novalle and Vaeda arrived in 2015 and 2019, respectively.  

On December 8, Lowell announced in a since-deleted Instagram post that she had suffered a miscarriage. “I WAS pregnant and excited to share it with all of you and I am heartbroken to reveal that I lost the baby,” she wrote at the time. “I am sharing this to let you know you are not alone. We are all in this together and everyone experiences pain, loss, and the recovery from it.”

Lowell previously suffered a pregnancy loss in 2017. Lowell and Baltierra married in August 2015 and have been part of the Teen Mom franchise since first appearing on 16 & Pregnant in 2009.
