One doctor shared his insight on the "most extraordinary" health issue that President Donald Trump could be shielding from the American people.

Dr. Jonathan Reiner spoke out about the current president's alleged ailments on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper.

Reiner served as former Vice President D--- Cheney's cardiologist and works as a professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

In recent months, Trump has appeared to nod off multiple times during important broadcasts and meetings, and Reiner has taken notice.

Donald Trump has appeared to doze off during multiple meetings.

"That really is the most extraordinary thing now," he said of the relatively recent phenomenon. "The president is a well-known night owl, and that's not new."

Reiner pointed out that what's especially peculiar about the 80-year-old's behavior is that he seems to be falling asleep while in the company of esteemed colleagues and representatives.

"What's new is that over the past several months, he has a very hard time staying awake when he's surrounded by people, often when he's surrounded by people talking to him," Reiner pointed out. "And it happens very quickly, and it's so unusual."

Donald Trump was recently issued a clean bill of health.

Trump is the first of his kind for many things, and Reiner believes that the sitting president can add this accomplishment to the list.

"We've never seen a president of the United States fall asleep in the Oval Office as people are talking to him," he elaborated.

Not only have the president's actions become the subject of a national joke, but Reiner also revealed that it could indicate a very real problem.

"It's being normalized, and that's a serious medical issue," he continued. "And in the president's last comprehensive physical exam, there was no mention of that. There was no mention of the fact that the president has trouble staying awake during the day."

'The President Has Not Looked Well'

Donald Trump has been spotted with bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs.

The president was recently issued a clean bill of health by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, but Reiner is skeptical.

On August 12, he published an op-ed in The New York Times, further dissecting the president's health problems, noting that the country "deserves an answer" about the health concerns.

"Despite reassurances from the White House to the contrary, at times over the past year, the president has not looked well," he wrote.

Reiner pointed out bruises on Trump's hands and swelling in his legs in addition to his propensity to doze off without explanation.

Donald Trump has not disclosed any health issues to the American public.

The professional theorized that Trump's symptoms could be the result of excessive daytime somnolence or even heart and kidney disease.

"Some people would argue that these personal medical details are more than the public deserves to know: After all, Buckingham Palace has not revealed many details about King Charlescancer or his treatment,” Reiner stated.

“But the United States does not have a king. In a representative democracy, the people must have confidence in their leader's health and in the leader’s capacity to guide the nation," he demanded. "We have been kept in the dark too long."
