He tried to hide his continuing addiction, but his ongoing weight fluctuations indicated otherwise. It finally came to a head while filming Serving Sara when he was rushed to the hospital for severe stomach pain. He then entered rehab for the second time in 2001. Paris admitted that she couldn't imagine what would have happened if she had killed or injured someone while she was driving intoxicated and did several post jail interviews to restore her image. Paris told Larry King, "Even though I hate it, I'm glad it happened in a way because this really changed my life forever, and I feel stronger than ever." His downward spiral continued but his manager Scooter Braun, was resilient and determined to plan a major comeback.
