Alex Rodriguez Spends Memorial Weekend With Kids After Jennifer Lopez Split — Photo
Smiling through the pain? Alex Rodriguez appeared to be in good spirits while spending the weekend with his children as the tumultuous aftermath of his split with Jennifer Lopez continues to impede his life.
A.Rod shared two adorable photos of himself with daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13 — whom he shares with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis — cuddled up on a boat together over Memorial Day weekend. "💙❤️ Wishing you all a happy and healthy #MemorialDayWeekend," the former New York Yankees player captioned the sweet snaps.
Rodriguez's post highlighting his daddy-daughter day came over a month after he and J.Lo called off their two-year engagement. After postponing their wedding several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the former flames — who began dating in 2017 — announced their separation in April. At the time, they explained they were "better as friends and look forward to remaining so," in a joint statement.
However, the former power couple quickly turned into foes once Lopez was spotted hanging out with ex-fiancé Ben Affleck shortly after their split. OK! was the first to exclusively report that the Latin pop star and actor were "talking in private" as her romance with Rodriguez began to crumble.
The MLB player has been struggling to come to terms with Bennifer 2.0, with a source noting that the single father-of-two is still "in a world of pain." However, an OK! insider recently dished that Rodriguez is now realizing his picture-perfect romance with the Hustlers actress wasn't as happy as it once seemed.

"The more Alex reflects on it, the more he realizes he was living a lie," the source candidly said. "Their time together wasn't anything like the fairytale they tried to project to the world. Alex was more in love with the idea of them than the actual relationship itself."
It seemed Lopez came to this realization prior to the couple's split. Rodriguez appeared to be the perfect boyfriend in public, often gushing over Lopez and cheering on her performances. However, "he didn't act like the same person once they were by themselves," another insider continued.
Lopez grew weary of Rodriguez's true intentions and eventually started to feel "used" by the former athlete, according to the source. "The spark was fading, and it seemed like Alex was more into the showbiz side of things than their romantic connection," they added.
To add fuel to the fire, the 45-year-old was accused of having a fling with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy, 30, after it was revealed that he slid into her DMs. Regardless of what really happened between A.Rod and LeCroy, Lopez was humiliated and couldn't trust him anymore.
Luckily, she found comfort in the arms of Affleck, who reached out to the "On The Floor" crooner "as a friend" amid her split. They "connected right away," a source said, and have since shacked up together in Lopez's $18 million Miami rental as their relationship continues to heat up.
