Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman’s wife, Marieangela King, has filed to be put in charge as his conservator, clashing with the Grammy-winning singer’s attempt to do the same.
Cher originally filed for the conservatorship of her youngest son, whom she shared with her late ex-husband Gregg Allman, in 2023.
In 2024, Elijah filed a petition in court in which he noted his objection to his mother's intervention and pointed out that Marieangela should get that priority as his wife.
Elijah Allman Blue’s Wife Marieangela King Contests Cher’s Conservatorship Petition

Elijah Blue Allman previously stated that he did not wish his mother to be his conservator.
Cher and her son eventually settled the case at the time, but the music legend filed for the same again earlier this year, after the 50-year-old’s arrests in February and March on charges of trespassing, threatening, burglary and more.
Marieangela, who seemingly reunited with her estranged husband recently after filing and dismissing divorce petitions twice, filed court documents in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, August 18, per Us Weekly.
She stated in the documents that she plans to “stand in support of my spouse … ensure his well-being and be there for him and his care plan.”

Marieangela King alleged Cher tried to bar her from participating in conversations regarding Elijah Blue Allman's treatment plans for years.
She also pointed out that since her husband is currently involuntarily incarcerated by the state of New Hampshire, receiving long-term treatment and care for his issues, the chances of him misusing his trust funds to acquire drugs or engage in self-destructive behaviors are little to none.
As a result, his mother, whom he has not been in contact with for a long time and has deep trust issues with, intervening in what she states is a marital situation could negatively impact Elijah’s mental health and treatment.
“I strongly believe that Elijah needs a robust, long-term treatment plan to deal with these issues, an appointment of a conservator selected by his mother, from whom he has been estranged for years … her removing his autonomy against his wishes would demoralize him … jeopardizing his recovery,” she stated.

Marieangela King Claimed Cher’s Intervention Would Not be in Elijah Blue Allman’s Best Interests

Cher and Elijah Blue Allman reportedly share an 'extremely poor relationship.'
The 39-year-old further alleged in the court documents, “Elijah and [Cher] notoriously have an extremely poor relationship, and many unresolved trust issues.”
“[Cher] … refused to work or cooperate with me, as Elijah’s spouse, in developing a long-term care plan for his recovery and care,” she accused.

Marieangela King said she is more than willing to take on the responsibility of her husband's conservatorship.
She also stated that “[Cher] and her associates have [a] history of using [Cher’s] money, fame, and resources to manipulate doctors, social workers, and other professionals to interfere in the marital relationship, confine Elijah, and/or act in a manner contrary to his best interests and against his will.”
On the other hand, she is “ready, willing, and able” to take on the responsibility of his conservator, which her husband seemingly approves of as well.
