Donald Trump Accused of Wearing a Wig in Wild Video: 'What Is Going on Here?'

President Donald Trump sported what The Daily Beast labeled "suspicious new hair" during a speech at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas.

The 80-year-old president appeared on stage with a noticeably fuller, more voluminous head of hair, immediately sparking speculation and jokes online about whether he was wearing a new wig, toupee or hairpiece.

Journalist Aaron Rupar posted footage of the POTUS wearing his seemingly new coif, asking, “Is Trump rocking a wig, or what the h--- is going on here? Trump’s hair, uh, has a lot more volume than normal.”

“Looks like a man’s ‘weave,’ which is sewn into his own hair to add that volume. It’s probably where he got that word he uses to excuse his veering off subject when he’s talking,” suggested one commenter.

“He looks like a used car salesman,” noted another.

Observers pointed out that his hair looked thinner during a Friday Cabinet meeting and that it appeared a different color on Fox News.

The apparent increase in volume at the Las Vegas rally led prominent media commentators and political accounts to question how such a shift in hair fullness was possible.

In a sworn 1990 divorce deposition, his late ex-wife, Ivana Trump, stated under oath that Trump had undergone a scalp reduction surgery in 1989.

Popular in the 1980s, scalp reduction involves surgically removing areas of balding scalp and stitching the remaining hair-bearing skin together.

According to Ivana's deposition, a botched, highly painful procedure by a plastic surgeon she recommended led to an infamous confrontation between the couple. Trump has consistently denied the incident and the surgery.

Hair transplant surgeons and medical experts who have analyzed Trump’s hairline over the decades widely agree that his hair is the result of multiple operations.

Plastic surgeons estimate he may have spent upwards of $160,000 on hair restoration throughout his life.

While Trump traveled to Las Vegas to pitch his administration's economic platform and promote new tax cuts, online discourse largely pivoted toward his grooming, overshadowing his targeted policy remarks on the economy and ongoing trade disputes with Canada.
