Emotional Jamie Foxx Reveals Doctor Told Him Daughter Corinne 'Saved' His Life Following Stroke, Nicknamed Her 'Michael Corleone'

Jamie Foxx reflected on how his daughter "saved" his life following a terrifying stroke.

Foxx, 58, opened up about his past health struggles on the August 25 episode of Keke Palmer's "Baby, This Is Keke Palmer" podcast.

He explained that his daughter, Corinne Foxx, rushed to his aid following the 2023 stroke, which earned her a fitting nickname.

"When you look at The Godfather and Michael Corleone is out with his girl on Christmas, he picks up the newspaper and sees that his father has been shot, and he says, ‘It doesn’t say if he’s alive,’ and he’s not really telling his girl what he’s reading,” Jamie explained while becoming emotional.

"Michael Corleone left and he went to that hospital, and he took over. He told one of the guys, ‘There were people coming here to do danger to my father. I need you to help me.’ That’s who she was," he added of his daughter. "Michael Corleone left, and he went to that hospital, and he took over."

Jamie revealed that he suffered brain bleeding, which led to the stroke. While he was hospitalized, Corinne dropped everything to help her dad.

Even doctors admitted Jamie wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for Corinne, telling him: "She's the reason you're here."

"When I talked to the doctor, I said, ‘Hey, listen. I hear everybody’s stories. I want to know from you what it was,’” he remembered. “He said, ‘Hey man, without her, you wouldn’t be here.’ So I said, ‘Hey, that’s Michael Corleone forever.’”

"The doctor was like, ‘No one handles it like this … because you were on the slab, TMZ, all these different [people were asking for details], and she handled it," Jamie continued.

Corinne, who joined him in the podcast interview, was reportedly "laser-focused" on her father's recovery, though she tried to shield his health challenges from people online.

“I mean, you had to deal with a lot of stuff," Jamie said to his daughter. "She had to deal with the internet."

Corinne reflected on the "scary" side of the internet and rampant speculation she saw about her father when "everything went dark."

"It also was not my place to ever release his medical information, and so, I had never really experienced that before," Corinne explained, adding, "The toughest part was just trying to manage that, but it didn’t really matter. They can say whatever they want, as long as he’s good."

Corinne, 32, is Jamie's eldest child with his former partner Connie Kline. He shares his second daughter, 17-year-old Annalise, with his ex Kristin Grannis.

Jamie is currently expecting his third child with his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp.
