Kate Middleton 'Played the Long Game' in Her Careful Climb to the Throne, Royal Expert Says: 'There Has Been a Steady Build of Power'

Royal experts claimed that Kate Middleton always knew how to be royal.

Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner claimed the princess's climb to the crown within the royal family has been meticulously laid out from the very beginning.

"Kate has played the long game because she realizes she will one day be queen to King William," he confessed to Fox News Digital. "That training is far more extensive."

Over the years, the princess has allegedly meticulously chosen what she would wear, how she would act and how the public would perceive her in order to position herself in the best place possible to become a beloved queen.

"There has been a steady build of PR power for Kate," he added. "It involves wearing the right clothes, manufacturing the right photographs to show a successful queen-in-waiting, as well as a devoted mother."

According to royal author Christopher Anderson, who wrote a book on the future queen entitled Kate!, the public wasn't always on her side.

"Knives were out from the moment Kate stepped into the spotlight a quarter-century ago," he said of when the couple first emerged in 2003. "She had walked a tightrope for years, no doubt about it. But the entire time she had the love and support of her husband. She seemed to understand instinctively that the cardinal rule was not to upstage the monarch."

He referred to the princess as the monarchy's "most important asset" after she had dedicated years of her life to perfectly molding herself into the role.

"True, she was given plenty of time to learn the ropes," Christopher noted. "But the truth of the matter is that Kate had it in her from the very beginning."

William and Kate married in 2011 and have since welcomed three potential heirs to the throne: George, Louis and Charlotte.

Throughout her 15 years in the family, Kate has taken on the royal family's projects on mental wellbeing and early childhood advocacy. She seems to have successfully won over the rest of the royal family and the British people.

But those close to the family said her hard work also came with natural-born royal instincts.

"In many ways, I think there were some in the royal family who were intimidated by Kate's innate grace and charm, not to mention her Diana-like appeal to the general public," Christopher continued. "She knew intuitively when to hold back, when to get along and when to stand her ground."

Kate grew up in a working-class family in the United Kingdom before meeting William while attending the University of St. Andrews.

Because of her humble background and razor-sharp intuition, some experts have claimed the princess made a "major social leap" unlike any of her predecessors by first observing the family as a citizen.

"[She] didn't rush her fences," royal author of The Four Wives of Windsor, Simon Vigar, told the outlet. "She's very clever. I reckon she's probably the cleverest of a lot of them."
