Megyn Kelly Shades Sunny Hostin's Son Gabriel Over 'Special Treatment' After He Gets His Trespassing Case Dismissed

Megyn Kelly lashed out at The View co-host Sunny Hostin after her son, Gabriel, had his trespassing case essentially dismissed following his completion of a diversion program.

Kelly slammed the outcome on her podcast, arguing that "no special treatment" should be given and that an adult Harvard graduate should know better than to enter private property.

On June 16, 24-year-old Gabriel Hostin was stopped by police for trespassing on active Metro-North railroad tracks in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Gabriel completed a legal diversion course on August 20, prompting prosecutors to submit a formal letter to the court requesting dismissal of the trespassing charges in full.

Kelly's latest criticism builds on a wave of backlash she sparked in July after police bodycam footage was made public.

Kelly accused The View co-host of displaying "dripping sanctimony and hypocrisy.”

She pointed out that Hostin frequently builds her television platform on lecturing others about racial and wealth privilege, yet relied heavily on her own status during her son's legal trouble.

The released bodycam footage revealed Sunny arriving at the scene to intervene, highlighting her role on The View, her background as a former federal prosecutor, and her son's Ivy League education as factors that influenced the officers.

Kelly blasted this behavior as "disgusting" and "shameful.”

“I’m a former federal prosecutor. He knows. He’s a Harvard grad who teaches fourth-grade geometry to South Bronx kids,” Sunny argued. “He’s not a kid who’s ever in trouble. It’s an innocent mistake.”

Kelly lashed out at Hostin, saying, “This person is constantly b------- about white privilege and how she doesn’t have it. Her son went to Harvard. He’s got Harvard privilege, and she wanted the courts and everybody else involved in his arrest to know it to the end.”

Hostin wrote a formal letter to the district attorney claiming her son was simply an "avid runner" who walked through an open gate with no unlawful intent.

Kelly mocked this defense, stating on her podcast TikTok that anyone in their mid-20s who graduated from Harvard knows that property past a gate is private.

Because the bodycam footage featured Hostin explicitly using her ABC title — stating to officers, "My name is Sunny Hostin, and I'm one of the co-hosts of The View" — the network's public relations and legal teams likely mandated that the topic remain entirely off-limits to protect the show's brand.

“A Harvard graduate can’t have any marks on his record, you see, because he’s a future leader. He’s a future king, unlike your son or mine. That’s how Sunny Hostin sees the world,” Kelly fumed.

Hostin has described Kelly as a former friend who became an aggressive "caricature of herself" in pursuit of television fame.

While Hostin has completely ignored Kelly's recent attacks regarding her son, she has spoken extensively about Kelly in the past, detailing their history as former Fox News colleagues.

Before The View, Hostin worked as a legal analyst at Fox News and regularly went head-to-head with Kelly on Bill O'Reilly's show. Hostin recalled that they were a "wonderful foil" for one another.

In her memoir I Am These Truths, Hostin revealed that they used to be close friends who texted regularly. Hostin even supported Kelly by visiting her dressing room and hugging her when Kelly promoted her book on The View.

On the "Behind the Table" podcast, Hostin detailed how Kelly changed.

Hostin stated that while Kelly was perfectly fine off-camera, the second the recording light turned on, she became "a completely different person — very aggressive and assertive"
