Perez Hilton's Friends Reveal his Heartbreaking Plea to Katy Perry as He Struggles With Memory Loss After Livestream Knife Incident

Perez Hilton is reportedly suffering from memory loss in the wake of his disturbing livestream that landed him in the hospital.

Worse yet, a friend told Daily Mail that the celebrity blogger seems to have “lost a decade” and thinks it is still 2016.

The friend also noted that he keeps urging them to bring Katy Perry to his bedside as he believes they are “best friends” and that he “made her into a star.” He also reportedly claimed that the pop star “would be nowhere without him.”

Hilton and Perry used to be close during the early days of her career. However, the pair have reportedly barely spoken to each other in years, which only makes his plea seem all the more heartbreaking to the friend and shows that his memory has taken a hit following the violent livestream and his mental breakdown.

“He is not all there,” the friend said.

Another family friend, who has reportedly remained close to them for the past 20 years, noted that even short conversations with the 48-year-old show that he's “still not well at all.”

Hilton was hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act, which allows authorities to involuntarily detain someone showing signs of a severe mental health crisis and potential for harming themselves or others. He's not been granted access to a personal phone or any outside connection without his care providers’ supervision, per the outlet.

However, when the family friend has reached out to him over the hospital’s landline, he has often started “rambling” and zoning out in the middle of the conversation. They also revealed that he has had some moments of clarity but is still “all over the place.”

“One minute he's thinking about moving forward and making plans for when he's back at work,” the insider said, before adding, “the next minute he's talking about walking away altogether.”

The friend also told the outlet that Hilton has repeatedly asked, “How the site is doing.”

“He asked how people are talking about him - what they're saying,” they said.

“His family has assured him that everything is OK, but he's not believing it,” the insider continued.

The father-of-three was reportedly looking for work beyond his celebrity gossip site before the incident occurred, per the outlet, particularly because the site traffic has been declining for a while.

Although his small team has returned to work to post about celebrities in recent weeks, it is unclear how long it will take for Hilton to come back and take the reins.

“He can't do any work at the moment. His family is handling all of his affairs,” an insider told the outlet.

“His mother and sister are making sure he is getting the best care. They are hopeful,” they added.

The source also added that with the state he is in right now, his return to work, if ever, remains “a distant thing.”
