The holiday season is officially here and for many it means fun, food, and, most importantly, spending quality time with family. But for some celebrities, just the thought of extended interaction with relatives is a total nightmare! Read on to check all the stars embroiled in bitter family feuds.
Brody Jenner was once stepbrother to the eldest KarJenner sisters. However, a source revealed to People that he was never particularly close to any of them. The insider said, “He didn’t spend a lot of time with Caitlyn Jenner when she married Kris Jenner, so he didn’t see them as much.” He's not particularly close to younger sisters Kylie and Kendall, either. They never RSVP'ed to his wedding!
During the 2016 season of The Bachelorette, it was revealed that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers no longer talks to his family. During the episode, his brother Jordan explained, “It’s just the way he’s chosen to do life. I chose to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother Luke.”
When Kyle Richards began working on her semi-biographical television show, she admitted it put a strain on the relationship between her and sisters, Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton. At the time she explained “After producing American Women, our relationship has changed. It has. I just want to be able to explain to them that these shows are inspired by my life, not theirs.”
Though Eric and younger sister Julia Roberts are on good terms now, for years their relationship was anything but that. After spending their childhood being nearly joined at the hip, the siblings became estranged when Eric got deeper and deeper into drug use. In 2018, he said, "I was exhausting to be around: complain-y, blame-y, unable to enjoy enjoyment. Everyone in my world needed a break sometimes, and that must have included Julia."
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe’s kid brother Rob Kardashian has an openly love-hate relationship with his sisters. In 2017, tensions were especially high when he began dating Blac Chyna, and now the most camera shy KarJenner flat out refuses to appear in episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the family’s long-running reality series.
Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Dina and Caroline Manzo used to be super close until their appearance on the reality series ruined their realtionship. While on the SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live radio show back in August 2018 Dina explained, “I really quit after season 1, but part of my deal was I had to film some of season 2. It was when I didn’t recognize who she was any more that I said, ‘I’m out.’ ”
Bethenny Frankel and her mom, Bernadette Birk have been estranged for many years, and both parties have no desire to extended an olive branch any time soon. In 2018, Bernadette told Radar Online, “There is no possibility we will ever see each other again. She never reached out to me. Never. And she won’t. I used to be upset. There was a grieving process. But I’ve since completely let go. It’s like now, I had a daughter who died.”
Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight reportedly started working on their tumultuous relationship back in 2007 (with the help of Brad Pitt), but for years before that, the pair were not on speaking terms. Jon reportedly cheated on Angelina’s mom, Marcheline Bertrand, and abandoned the family when the Lara Croft actress was still very young. Then in 2002, Jon Voight notoriously accused his daughter of having mental problems after her split with ex-Billy Bob Thornton.
Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen may not use the same last name but they are in fact brothers. However, these siblings will probably never see eye to eye. Emilio, who has kept a mostly low profile since his '80s Brat Pack glory days, has suggested that his brother’s drug use and volatile behavior caused the deterioration of their relationship. Dad Martin Sheen seems to be close to both his sons.
When Aaron Spelling died back in 2006, his daughter Tori expected to received a pretty huge chunk of her dad’s fortune. However, when her mom and the estate executor Candy only gave her a meagre $800,000, the relationship between the already estranged pair further deteriorated. Over a decade later and the two are finally working on their complicated dynamic. A source close to the family told US Weekly, “Things were tense for a while between the two. But they are very close now and actively working through their issues.”
In November 2018, the Braxton family sat down with Iyanla Vanzant to hash out their issues and to discuss what ultimately lead to Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar, and Evelyn all walking off the set of Braxton Family Values this past summer. During the episode Toni admitted, “I’m confessing that although I love my family, most of the time I don’t like my family. Everyone in my family. It’s like I’m angry at everybody in my family. I don’t like my family. If they weren’t my family, they wouldn’t be my friends.”
Tamra Judge’s daughter Sidney wants nothing to do with her. Though the Real Housewives of Orange County star said that the two of were finally working on their relationship in 2017, the teenager quickly took to social media and shot down those claims. At the time she wrote in part, “I don’t want to be associated with her or the show.”
Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted for tax evasion and other financial crimes in August 2019. Soon after the couple turned themselves into the authorities, their daughter Lindsie disowned the family. She said she’s been the “target of lies, harassment and threats from her family.” Her brother Kyle was also previously estranged from the family due to his battles with drug addiction. He accused Lindsie for corroborating against Todd in the tax case.
Back in 2002, a then 14-year-old Ariel Winter, filed a restraining order against her mom Crystal Workman, citing physical and verbal abuse. Ariel’s sister Shanelle Gray was granted temporary guardianship of the Modern Family star until she was officially emancipated back in 2015.
