"I mean, that's the main reason I cannot accept a life without hot s--," he said, later noting that he's been close to tying the knot two or three times in his life. "Yeah, I got close. I mean, I was engaged when I was 29."

"But I kind of knew even as we were engaged in buying the ring and all that stuff," he added. "I just, there was a voice in my back in my head always saying, 'really, you're just going to f--- this one person forever.'"

"So it was about the s--," Owens replied, prompting Maher to confirm that it was. "I think that that does show that pornography ... is something that is not a good thing. You're maybe right. Yeah. You may be prevented you from unlocking this thing."

But Maher was undeterred. "Now take the s-- out of the equation," he continued his argument. "I mean, is anyone really that interesting that the person you want to spend this much time with?" he asked.

Owens replied that there were "many people," both in and outside of marriage. She admitted that her late grandfather is one person she could speak to "every day" of her life.

"I would I would get rid of six friends of mine to always be able to speak to my grandfather as my friend," she said.

Maher recently criticized Howard Stern for 'gushing' about his marriage to his second wife.

And while Maher isn't planning on getting married any time soon, that doesn't mean he has nothing to say about other people's marriages. As OK! previously reported, the HBO personality slammed Howard Stern for frequently praising his current wife on the air.

"How does this gushing about the second wife — how does that make the first wife feel?" the 64-year-old said, referring to Stern's ex-wife, Alison Burns. "Could we just not gush about the person while the other person can still hear it?"

However, Stern was left fuming by the bizarre comments about his relationship.

"What a sexist thing to say! Like, what a convoluted, nutty thing to say," Stern said at the time. "It’s assuming that he knows something about my first marriage. That, of course, the man must be leaving the woman and the woman must be devastated and be sitting around pining away for her famous man."

"He ought to shut his mouth!" Stern continued. "I mean, I don’t think I come on the air every day and say, I love my wife. But I thought it was a pretty positive message, to — especially with my audience — to say to guys instead of like ragging on our wives, how about talking about that we appreciate them and love them."
