In a shocking development, conspiracy theorist and InfoWars founder Alex Jones has publicly turned on President Donald Trump, urging his supporters to "cut bait" on the president due to concerns about his health and performance.

Jones alleged that the 79-year-old is suffering from severe physical and cognitive decline, citing visible "swollen ankles" and verbal lapses.

"When your ankles swell up three times the size they were before, that means heart failure. And he does look sick. And he does babble. Sound like the brain's not doing too hot,” he said on his Tuesday, March 31, podcast.

Alex Jones turned on Donald Trump in a new interview.

"We need to be sad about Trump. This is not funny. This is not good. But he's gone. And that's it,” he added.

The right-wing influencer is most widely known for promoting false claims that national tragedies, such as the 9/11 attacks and the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, were "false flag" operations staged by the government.

Juries in Texas and Connecticut ordered Jones to pay approximately $1.4 billion in damages to the families of Sandy Hook victims for his defamatory claims.

Alex Jones is known for his conspiracy theories.

On October 14, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected his appeal, leaving the billion-dollar judgment in place.

Jones, who was once floated by Donald Trump Jr. as a potential presidential press secretary, was permanently banned from major platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Apple in 2018 for violating hate speech policies.

Jones has been a vocal critic of the administration's military strikes in Iran, describing the targeting of civilian infrastructure as a "war crime." He argued these actions betrayed the "America First" non-interventionist platform Trump originally ran on.

Alex Jones is not in favor of the current war.

Jones has expressed frustration over the administration's actions regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files and alleged that Trump has aligned himself with establishment figures.

The formerly staunch Trump ally has urged his followers to abandon their support for the aging president and instead focus on opposing Democrats, suggesting the president is in a "free fall.”

Jones suggested that Trump needs to "take some time off" and that Republicans should look for new leadership to represent the MAGA movement.

He also cited plummeting approval ratings — down to 33 percent in some polls — as evidence that the president has become a strategic liability for the movement.

The White House hit back at Alex Jones' claims.

The White House denied Jones’ claims, with a spokesperson telling The Independent that Trump is "the sharpest and most accessible President in American history" and that Jones' claims were designed to "boost podcast views.”

Jones is not the only high-profile supporter to distance himself; other right-wing figures like Joe Rogan and Andrew Schulz have also expressed betrayal or criticism, particularly over the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

This internal rift comes as the GOP prepares for the 2026 midterm elections amid historically low approval ratings.
