Still standing! Mariska Hargitay updated her followers on her health status after sustaining multiple leg injuries.
While it is unclear what happened to have landed her in the hospital, the Law and Order: SVU star took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 19, to tell her 2.1 million followers about the injuries she endured. Hargitay shared a photo of herself standing outside the hospital with a knee brace on one leg and a boot on her other foot.
Alongside the snap, she advised her followers to always go to the doctor if something is wrong before thanking them for their love during this time. "#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament," the 57-year-old captioned the pic. "It's always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately. #ListenToYourBody #TrustTheExperts #StayStrong."
Despite the severity of her injuries, Hargitay remained in good spirits, as she comically added the hashtags: "#InOtherKneeNews #BustingPerpsWithBustedKnees #BraceYourself #NotTheBeesKnees #TheQueenBeesKnees." And luckily, Hargitay confirmed she won't need surgery before adding the hashtag #YouShouldSeeTheOtherGuy.
Friends and fans immediately took to the comment section to shower the brunette beauty with support on her road to recovery. "What!?!? You are such a trooper," celebrity hairdresser Mara Roszak wrote while You actress Kathryn Gallagher added, "#braceyourself is really doing it for me rn these hashtags are some of your finest."
Cynthia Erivo commented: "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!!!" as Debra Messing exclaimed, "HONEY!!!!!! Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!" And a worried Ryan Buggle, Hargitay's son on Law and Order: SVU, added: "OMG! Nooooo... Get better So soon!"
Prior to her incident, Hargitay, who is married to Younger star Peter Hermann, 53, shared an adorable video of her and Meloni on the Law and Order: Organized Crime set. In the clip, Meloni comically instructed Hargitay to flip her hair around before posing for the camera. "Now we're ready," he said as he pursed his lips together.
While the costars are just as close off camera as their characters are on-screen, Hargitay's husband doesn't seem to mind their long-standing relationship. In fact, he previously quipped about how close the two are, joking that he and his wife — who share children August, 14, Amaya, 10, and Andrew, 9 — are officially a throuple with Meloni.
"We make it work," Hermann told E!'s Daily Pop earlier this month. "Sometimes Chris and I have some things to negotiate, but we've gotten really good at communicating with each other. There's a lot of give and take — kind of. In the end all three of us are really happy."
