During the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday, October 22, the pop icon, 33, and Patrick Mahomes' wife, 28, showed the world how close they've become since Swift began dating Travis Kelce. However, the internet had quite a few thoughts about how the duo displayed their friendship.
Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes were roasted for their secret handshake.
"Nooo I love Travis and Taylor, but this gives me the ick 😂," one Instagram user penned below a video of the "Karma" singer and Mahomes' mid-game ritual. "Oh that was fast also kinda cringey [sic]," a second person noted.
"Make it stop," a third person lamented, while another threw in, "I wish I could I unsee this and I happened to see it live and now this again 😭."
Many social media users labeled Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes 'cringe' for their sideline antics.
Despite the haters, other fans came to Swift and Mahomes' defense. "I like it! They look happy! I wouldn't say no to this life 😅," one positive person noted.
As OK! previously reported, the chart-topper made quite a splash as she cheered on her man, 34, at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri, where his team beat the Los Angeles Chargers.
Swift and Kelce were later seen departing the game while holding hands in coordinating red and white outfits.

Since the power couple went public with their romance in September, the relationship has been met with its fair share of adoration and criticism for the over-saturation in the media. Even Kelly Clarkson expressed her annoyance with how much the NFL has highlighted the entertainer and the athlete since the start of the season.
"It is hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people [like me] who like watching sports," the American Idol alum said during a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. "It's like you're watching gossip things. What about the [game] play? They're taking over!"
Brittany Mahomes is married to Travis Kelce's teammate Patrick Mahomes.

Despite the slight shade, Clarkson, 41, later clarified that she only wanted to send love to Swift and Kelce. "Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news…" she began in an Instagram post.
"Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone's romance. I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y'all even watch what I actually said on my show?" she continued. "I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request, Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!"
