Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez 'Are No Longer Speaking': The Aftermath Of Their Breakup Is 'Getting Ugly,' Source Dishes
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez both said they wanted to remain friends after calling off their two-year engagement in April — but that was before the songstress fell back into the arms of Ben Affleck. In light of the rumored couple's brewing romance, OK! has now learned that J-Rod is no longer on speaking terms.
While it seems Lopez moved on rather quickly, an OK! source insists there was much more going on behind the scenes. “There is a lot of pain and rage about breaking off the engagement. Jen might look happy back with Ben, but what we didn’t see was the agony and pain that she went through breaking off her engagement to A-Rod and breaking up their kids who had become so close," the insider reveals.
Lopez shares 13-year-old twins Emme Maribel and Maximilian David with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez shares teenage daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
According to the source, the 51-year-old and former New York Yankees player both have pent up anger towards each other. "Jennifer is angry about what Alex did when they were engaged, while Alex is angry about what Jennifer did after they broke the engagement off,” the source tells OK!. “Which explains why they are no longer speaking.”
As OK! previously reported, J.Lo and A-Rod announced their breakup in April, explaining that they are "better as friends." The shocking news came after the athlete made headlines for having an alleged fling with Southern Charm's Madison LeCroy. The 45-year-old and LeCroy were allegedly DM'ing, but the 30-year-old said that their conversations were "innocent" and that Rodriguez never "physically cheated" on Lopez with her.
Regardless of the truth, "the whole scandal was a huge embarrassment for Jennifer," a source previously explained, and she could no longer trust the father-of-two.

Meanwhile, OK! was the first to exclusively report that Lopez and Affleck — who split in 2004 after a two-year engagement — were "talking in private" while her relationship with Rodriguez began to crumble.
Affleck apparently reached out to Lopez to check in, and the two "connected right away," another source claimed. The rekindled lovebirds were in "regular contact by email" since February while she was in the Dominican Republican shooting the film Shotgun Wedding.
And while Lopez has been cuddling up with Affleck, Rodriguez has been struggling to come to terms with the fact that reconciliation is off the table. The athlete has not directly addressed Bennifer 2.0; however, he recently took to his Instagram Story to insist he is ready for the next chapter of his life.
“I am about to step into a new beginning in my life,” he wrote on Sunday, May 23. “Anything that doesn’t serve me is clearing out of my life. New energy is emerging. New levels are unlocking for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I am remaining patient and know that this new phase of my life is coming.”
His extremely positive message was met by unimpressed pals of Lopez, who called him out for taking to Instagram to try and get his ex's attention.
“Alex’s post was such a little b**ch move. Jen won’t return his calls, so he takes to social media thinking he is being clear and coy,” a pal tells OK!. “Of course she saw it. But pulling stunts like this will only push her further away. It’s getting ugly. Just wait until they bump into each other again.
"Miami isn’t big enough for Alex, Jen and Ben!" the source exclaims.
