Prince Harry 'Less Interested' in PDAs Than 'Touchy-Feely' Wife Meghan Markle, Source Claims

Prince Harry is "far less interested" in public displays of affection than his more "touchy-feely" wife Meghan Markle, according to a source who exclusively spoke to OK! about the couple's body language dynamics after the duo's latest red carpet appearance highlighted their contrasting styles.

The 41-year-old Duke of Sussex joined Meghan, 45, at the David Foster Foundation's star-studded 40th anniversary gala at the Victoria Conference Centre in Canada on Friday, August 7.

The charity supports Canadian families whose children require life-saving organ transplants.

Meghan was photographed leaning into her husband and placing a hand on his chest, while Harry adopted a more restrained pose.

A source familiar with the couple said: "Meghan has always been naturally tactile and comfortable showing affection, whether that's holding hands, touching Harry's arm or leaning into him for photographs. Harry is affectionate too, but he's generally less interested in making a big display of it when cameras are around. They simply have different ways of presenting themselves in public."

"Meghan is much more touchy-feely and instinctively reaches for Harry, whereas he can become a little more formal when he knows he's standing on a red carpet with photographers calling for his attention. That shouldn't be confused with how they are privately. Harry just isn't always as demonstrative for the cameras, and he's more conscious of posing at these formal events, and is certainly far less interested in PDAs than Meghan," they added.

Body language expert Judi James has also told the Daily Express Meghan appeared to take the lead in projecting affection during their appearance.

James said: "Meghan uses a togetherness pose with Harry to register ongoing affection here, pressing into his torso and placing one hand onto his chest in a gesture of ownership as her eyes again greet the camera directly in a 'My man' style of celebrity pose and her lips part in a wide, teeth-baring smile of relationship bliss. Harry's hard stare into the camera, his closed lips and the very light placement of his fingers on her back make him look less reciprocal and more subtle when it comes to emotional boasting. Harry's body language suggests a different vibe here. He looks keen to show up well and his facial expressions and his effortful-looking foot placements give out hints that he has perhaps been coached how to create a complimentary red carpet pose. Instead of his usual foot splay, he stands with his right foot placed ahead and with the toe of his left foot angled to point outward while his outside arm hangs down at his side."

James said Harry's stance appeared noticeably more deliberate than his usual red carpet posture.

She added: "This looks like a model pose and it appears to mirror his wife's stance. He even tops it off with something of a Zoolander-style intense stare into the camera while his 'smile' is performed with closed lips rather than the usual friendly and fun Harry-style grin."

The appearance came days after Meghan celebrated her 45th birthday and weeks after the Sussexes traveled to the U.K. with Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

The visit marked Meghan, Archie and Lilibet's first trip to Harry's home country since 2022 and included a reunion with King Charles, 77, and Queen Camilla, 79, as well as a stay at Althorp House, the ancestral home of Harry's late mother Princess Diana.
