An ex-Trump lawyer is weighing in on the president's questionable mental state.
Speaking on "The Jim Acosta Show" on Tuesday, March 31, former White House Special Counsel Ty Cobb pointed to Donald Trump's late-night Truth Social tirades as proof that he's "clearly insane."
"These screeds that come out nightly, at 2 a.m. or 4 a.m. or whatever time Trump decides to vent without oversight, it highlights the level of his insanity and depravity," he claimed.
'He Makes It Obvious Every Day'

Ty Cobb has become a vocal critic of the president.
"You think he’s just gone?" Acosta asked, to which Cobb replied, "I think he's gone."
"And he makes it obvious every day," the host added.
Cobb — who notably served as special counsel to the president from 2017 to 2018 during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election — has become a vocal critic of Trump in more recent years.

The lawyer worked for the president in 2017 and 2018.
Cobb slammed the two-time POTUS in another recent episode of Acosta's podcast, calling his behavior and the media's normalization of it "demented."
"I mean, one of the problems we have in the press, I think these days is, you know they talk about Trump’s conduct as though it’s somehow part of a continuum," he said, adding, "It’s not part of the continuum. It is a, you know, demented narcissistic rupture in our society."

Donald Trump's Behavior Continues to Fuel Dementia Rumors

Donald Trump has been captured seemingly dozing off in Cabinet meetings on multiple occasions.
Cobb's remarks come as Trump, 79, continues to face dementia rumors.
In addition to peddling election conspiracies and ranting about how hard-working he is late at night on social media, he's often caught making mistakes such as confusing the names of countries and recently referring to Ireland's female president as "he" on St. Patrick's Day.
Then there's his apparent falling asleep on the job.
The former real estate mogul has been caught nodding off in meetings on numerous occasions since his second term started, leading his critics to refer to him by nicknames like "Dozy Don."
'They'll Catch Me With the Blink'

Donald Trump's 80th birthday is in June.
But Trump, who turns 80 in June, has denied accusations that he's ever napped while working, claiming he's merely shutting his peepers for a moment.
"I'll just close. It's very relaxing to me," he said in a January interview. "Sometimes they'll take a picture of me blinking, blinking, and they'll catch me with the blink."
