JonBenét Ramsey was murdered in 1996.

"When I first heard about the Moscow case, I looked how big the town was and thought, 'Oh boy, here comes another Boulder," the father of slain pageant princess JonBenét Ramsey told a news outlet. "It looked like another inexperienced, small police department."

"The Chief of Police came up and said, 'This is our investigation,' and I thought again, this doesn't look good," he admitted. "But he brought in everybody he could get his hands on right away. He had 40 FBI agents on site he had to state police and they had it solved within a few weeks."

"I think the two cases ought to be illustrated to any new police chief that this is how you do it, in Moscow, and here's how you don't do it, in my daughter's case," John continued, reiterating that the Moscow police wanted as much outside help as possible to solve the tragic case, while Boulder police allegedly "refused help from the very beginning."

"That's been my criticism of Boulder PD all along, that they refused help from people that could've helped them," he explained of his daughter's murder case. "And that's really the second tragedy in this case."

"I was told by experienced homicide detectives that this case wouldn't have been difficult to solve had they had the right resources in the very beginning," John added of his daughter's murder.

"There's been lots of help that's been offered over the years from people that have the experience to solve this and they've always refused that help," he said. "And that's foolish at a minimum, and criminal at worst."
