Meghan Markle Was Disappointed to Learn She Didn't Have 'Equal Billing' to Kate Middleton
Meghan Markle struggled with her ranking within the royal family, and royal expert Phil Dampier believes the Duchess of Sussex didn't fully understand what being part of the royal family was all about.
During Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding week, reports began to circulate that the Suits star and Kate Middleton argued over Princess Charotte's bridesmaid dress. Despite Meghan trying to downplay the feud, there are rumors that the Suits star is looking to discuss the incident in a potential memoir.
"Harry’s Spare was a best seller and Meghan's would probably sell even more," the commentator shared in an interview. "It would also be the ideal opportunity for Meghan to put across her view of what happened to her when she met Harry, fell in love, joined the most famous family in the world and then left."
Dampier pointed out that Meghan didn't appreciate being seen as less than the Princess of Wales.
"She probably thought she should have got equal billing and didn’t seem to appreciate from the start that she and Harry were the B team, not on the same level as William and Kate," Dampier explained. "She will probably talk about comparisons that were made in the press between them and will come across as bitter."
The tiff between the two women escalated after Kate's comments made the duchess emotional before walking down the aisle, and fans wonder if Meghan will publish their private dialogue in her next project.
"She would give her side of what really happened between her and Kate in the run-up to the wedding, when each allegedly made the other cry," Dampier shared. "Everyone will be fascinated to hear Meghan’s take on her relationship with Kate, whether she was hostile or welcomed her from the start."

Despite the Sussexes' team not confirming if Meghan will write a book, Dampier thinks the working royals are prepared for the potential scandal that would follow.
"The royals will assume the worst and brace themselves for more revelations," Dampier said. "It would only make the relations much worse, but I still don’t think the royals will hit back."
"They will stay quiet and soak it up, even though they will be deeply hurt by it," he continued.
OK! previously reported a palace staffer claimed Meghan was annoyed by the hierarchy that existed within Harry's brood.
"She was dazzled by the worldwide fame that being a princess would bring, but she was shocked by the palace protocol and by the fact that she was not and never could be first in the pecking order," the source continued.
"She hated being a second-rate princess – second to Catherine Middleton, I mean," the source added. "She thought she would be living in Windsor Castle, for example, and just couldn’t believe it when she and Harry were given Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace."

Meghan also struggled with the lengthy list of rules forced upon her.
"She hated the fact that she had to do what she was told and go where she was told in the endless, and to a large extent pointless royal round," they said.
"I don’t think in the whole of history there was ever a greater divide between what someone expected when they became a member of the royal family and what they discovered it was really like," the source continued. "She was hugely disappointed. She was a global superstar but was being told what she could and could not do, what she could and could not say. She hated it."
