The man leading the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance revealed police are not sharing certain information they have with the public.
"There’s so much that everybody wants to know," Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in an interview with Today on Monday, March 2. "But I would be very neglectful, irresponsible as a police, law enforcement leader, to share that with everybody."
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he thinks investigators are 'definitely closer' to finding a suspect.
'We've Got a Lot of Intel'

'We've got a lot of intel,' the sheriff revealed.
"We have information on this case that we think is going to hopefully lead us to solving this case. But it takes time," he added.
He also shared that "investigators are definitely closer" to finding a suspect(s) in the alleged kidnapping of NBC morning show anchor Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother.
"We've got a lot of intel, a lot of leads," he explained. "Now it's time to just go to work."
When Was Nancy Guthrie Last Seen?

Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped.
Nancy has been missing for just over a month now, with her last sighting being on the evening of January 31.
Savannah's sister, Annie, and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni, were reported to be the last people to see the retiree alive the night before she vanished from her Tucson, Ariz., home.
The FBI has released surveillance footage of a masked suspect seemingly tampering with her doorbell camera and revealed they found DNA evidence at the scene — though it contains genetic material from more than one person, making it harder to analyze.

'Is It for Revenge?'

It's not clear why the 84-year-old was targeted.
It remains unclear what the motivation behind Nancy's alleged abduction could be.
The sheriff said in a prior interview last month that investigators are "stumped" on why she would have been targeted and taken against her will in the middle of the night.
"Is it for money?" he wondered. "I mean, we had the one demand where they asked for money. But is it really for money, or is it revenge for something?"
Savannah Guthrie Broke Cover to Visit a Memorial for Her Mom

Savannah Guthrie was captured adding flowers to a memorial the public set up near Nancy's home on March 2.
Savannah, 54, and Annie stepped out to visit a memorial community members set up near Nancy's home on Monday.
The sisters, who were accompanied by Tommaso, embraced one another other as they added yellow flowers and a card to the growing memorial.
A handwritten message on their card read: "Though we are surrounded by so much darkness and uncertainty, our love burns bright. We love you Mommy. We miss you so much."
The appearance comes a week after the Today star tearfully admitted in an Instagram video that their mom "may already be gone" and announced the reward for Nancy's "recovery" had been raised to $1 million.
