In the movie, Michelle plays Margot, a married freelance writer, living in Toronto who falls in love with her next door neighbor. The character in the movie is 28, which Michelle calls the “unsung period” of life “when you’re making a transition from being a girl into being a woman."

Michelle also talked about what acting meant to her when she first became famous as Jen Lindley on Dawson's Creek.

"I started when I was very young, when I was a young teenager," she said. "I think I liked the disappearing more then and now I like my life and I want to be a little more present. So that separation is a bit — isn't what I love anymore. It's more an exploration."
